The Crown Hotel — Restaurant in Queensland

We arrived fairly early at 6.15. About 6 people had ordered meals before us. I thought it was odd they put our order on a docket with other people and just recorded our names against the meal orders but didn't comment or ask why.||There were only 2 people at our table and we weren't part of a group. As the night progressed it became obvious there was a Lions club meeting being held ||Lots of meals were being delivered and after an hour and a half we went to the service counter to enquire about our meal and were told ' there are about 50 people ahead of you '. We were a bit surprised as most if the group came in and ordered well after us. Two enquiries and 2 hours after ordering we received our meals which were very good. ||I think our order was included with the Lions Club orders (everyone paid at the time of ordering) so it must have been interesting when they tried to deliver our order. They didn't apologise or explain. I guess a case of too bad too sad. ||Because the hotel was close to where we were staying we decided to try it again. Meal was served promptly and well cooked. Went through to the gaming bar to buy 2 glasses of wine. There was insufficient wine in the bottle to fill both glasses to the line. When asked about the shortfall the bar attendant replied he couldn't leave the bar to get another bottle !! Positives: Food is great, Michelle and the gentleman (forgot his name sorry) in the kitchen are fantastic. They ensure my meals are safe for me as I have food allergies that I make them aware of. And they taste awesome. Become a member and get discounted meals and drinks. Always clean and tidy establishment. Bar staff are great, friendly, knowledgeable We don't come all the time as we don't live in the area, but we make sure we support this business as they do a great job in the kitchen.

Only negative thing I'll mention, which I did mention in store and the duty manage took it on with full understanding, but i mention it because it's important, is: The young wait staff though require more training, and need to learn to listen, please understand the importance of getting it right when it comes to serving food to someone with food allergies. Also made us sit and wait for another 15 minutes before I had to go up and ask for our takeaway meal, again after already asking for it when the girl cleared the table, that was sitting on the pass for an extended period of time, so no need...
