The Worst place ever stayed at in all our trips worldwide Book at your peril! We arrived at 4.30pm sign on door “Ring Bell” so we Rang & Rang for quite a while so in desperation found a side door same sign Ring Bell but again no response so tried the door handle and the door opened I called out “Any one there’ a couple of time they this Women came screening out “What are you doing in my house my daughter is walking around naked” Apologised saying were were only trying to get our room, She said we should have rang the phone number But I said were from the UK and dont have a Australian phone! Finally got our “Delux” room we had booked for 3 nights, on inspection it was like a converted garage! First No WiFi she said she had a problem, the guy net door allowed us to use his address. We went out came back 8.30pm No Tv so NO Wifi and now NO TV to watch. Only one chair. The main Room Light wasnt working she said she new! The sink was so small better best suited to a dolls house, and impossible to fill the Kettle having to fill with a cup. We decided one night was enough so next morning we told this Vile women we were not stopping any longer and asked for a refund for the two remaining nights $210. She said NO even when we pointed out all the problems she just would not accept it was her problem. She was totally in denial and kept on saying she had her children to see too. We Contacted Hotels.com who apologised and offered a good Will gesture but said we would have to contact her but wouldn’t give a email address. We left and and found a place that was correctly...
Read more13/10/25. To add to my previous post: Have given up on the refund. Have been trying since February. Obviously were never going to get it. Manager kept referring us to head office (the Birch Hotel Group) and they wouldn't respond to any of my emails so just couldn't be bothered chasing anymore (probably relied on this) so as I recommended earlier - stay at the "Barrier Reef" hotel - much nicer! Feb 25: When arriving at this hotel back in Feb (boiling hot day) our booking was two separate rooms. One room had a mildly cool - not working properly air con and my room had poor maintenance (bathroom door almost fell off), milk in the fridge for my tea had a straw in it and a empty bath gel dispenser in the shower (lucky I bought my own). After about an hour trying to ring the Manager, we advised her that we were not staying the next night due to the cleaning obviously not done (or checked) and the poor working of the air con. The Manager agreed to refund our 2nd night. I have texts from her to say she is happy to approve the refund and to arrange it through booking.com. Booking.com have tried several times to obtain the refund however it would seem the Manager had no intention of providing a refund and just ignores them. My advice is if you are thinking of staying here - just don't. Stay at the Barrier Reef Motel -...
Read moreWe stay in a lot of motels each year at different price points and we concluded that at around $100 per night this place is well over priced. The room was on the small side but reasonably well equipped. The bed was the smallest we have slept in in 20 years, a double at best, definitely well smaller than a queen. ||||The bathroom was tiny with no bench space whatsoever. The small TV is mounted so high up the wall we got a sore neck from watching it. The AC was effective and very quite. ||||Service was ok and it was nice to be offered some fresh milk. Our room was right next to the reception area and the back door was left open and the blaring radio all afternoon made it necessary to close our door. ||||It's very handy to Bunnings but if you want a short walk to eating places this is not the place for you. ||||Compared with other motels in the area which are better and have a rate of around the $100 mark we concluded a rate of around $70 for this motel would be more appropriate. We won't be staying...
