⭐ Disappointing Experience at a Beautiful Venue
What a shame to have such a poor dining experience in such a lovely heritage building. The Yungaburra Pub has incredible potential with its charming atmosphere, but the execution falls far short.
Our server seemed completely disinterested when taking our order, giving off a "can't be bothered" vibe that set the tone for the afternoon. The roast pork came with broccoli that was so overcooked it was practically mush - definitely not the quality you'd expect from a pub meal.
Most concerning was the chicken parmy, which arrived with the breast meat still raw in the thickest part. This is a serious food safety issue, and we had to return it for a refund.
The only positives were the dinosaur nuggets (which were actually decent) and the cold beer - though these basics shouldn't be the highlight of a pub meal.
With such a beautiful heritage building and prime location, this place could be fantastic. Unfortunately, the lack of care from staff and kitchen makes it hard to recommend. Hopefully they can turn things around because the venue itself deserves better.

Read moreThe worst HOSTEL! My stay as backaper was terrible. First 5 nights were fire alarms 5 times per night. Thats very pleasant when u have to work 10+ hours on a farms. Ohh we got free food as a "sorry". Then every friday they have a party they midnight so people 70% backapers which works the second day and have to wake up at 4 am cant even sleep. And the manager doesnt care about it. If u want to drink some alcohol u have to buy it on the bar which is for backpackers very expensive. They have one "backapers can" for 3$ and other bottles of beer cost 6$+. Food costs here 22$+ and it's not even worth for that price. We stayed 6 in the room which has no aircon, so you can imagine that.. and on some of beds the emergency light shining straight to ur bed. Cockroaches and other bugs found dead on the ground and even first day on prepared bed. Probably they fighting with them.. Dishes - set of cutlery, plates, bowl and cup prepared on the bed first day. Anyway it was very digusting. Bed - very soft so u can feel the...
Read moreStopped here on our day trip. Looked like a great old fashioned country pub. Got there around 1. & settled in for a few beers and lunch. Noticed sign near the counter where you order. It stated “45 minute” wait on meals” We thought O.K and were given the buzzers that informed us that our meals were ready to pick up. About an hour later we were questioning whether our pager had perhaps run out of battery or incorrectly programmed. We approached the counter again and were informed “not much longer as they weee extremely busy. So we walked back to our table again. . Another 30 minutes elapsed and another member of our party went to investigate. His patience is perhaps the shortest.when he arrived at the counter and stated the wait.He was offered a full refund for all the meals and we could still have them shortly. Well this sounded perhaps a good outcome , but alas , another 45 minutes went by. We stood up left our pagers and exited...
