We are very disappointed that the lady in charge this afternoon could not turn the sound on for the footy match we went to Vat 116 to watch on their big screen today. We asked if she could turn the music down and we would get the sound through our phone. She very reluctantly said she would but we needed to realise some people would prefer the music. It never got turned down. We were the only people there at that time. Before we left at half time six other people arrived who all positioned their seats to watch the soundless screen and a lady and child came who went and sat outside. We nicely told the lady if we could hear the game we would stay and continue to buy drinks otherwise we would need to go somewhere else. She said that’s fine. She said we might be able to get sound when the afternoon crew started at 4 pm. The game we wanted to watch would have been well finished by then. We asked if one of our group of four, who understands technology could have a look and suggest how to get sound. She said her boss wouldn’t allow that. We asked if she could contact him to explain the situation and get his approval or instruction. She said no because he was at home with COVID. We reluctantly left and won’t...
Read moreSituated just a street back from Rockingham Foreshore, you will find quality beer, tasty bar meals and great music with an awesome atmosphere. Perfect meet up with friends and generally there is a nice crowd about during the day and early evening. It has on street parking and wheelchair accessible (100% indoor and out) as well as outdoor pavement seating area. I think families are allowed to sit and eat up to 8pm. The pub has great quality singers and bands booked on Saturday nights from my experience (small dance floor) and I enjoy Wednesday Karaoke which brings in an eclectic crowd, young and old. Chase the Ace is a Thursday which I went to just last week and the owner was offering crazy money and prizes. Didn't win, so may just go back next week too! Food is tasty. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Not a huge place but not small either. I would recommend to anyone wanting a quiet drink and lunch during the day, evening drinks with friends and a fun night out with more...
Read moreI don't think having an ABBA concert that attracted 95% 55 + year olds was a clever idea especially with those hazardous steps. I now when 55+ year olds drink alcohol, and their bodies are a bit out of shape dancing like handicapped disabilled people( no respect to real handicapped people) there may be balance issues at the end of the night, but thankfully I left before the end of the show because Agnetha's old lady vibrato voice( and stiff movement) was crap and bloated Bjork on the guitar needed a sound check. I've heard better karaoke singers actually, but yea I was glad I didn't witness the after math if there was any which I hope not. The staff were great, the bottle art on the wall and ceiling were interesting for 10 seconds and it was so cramped I felt uncomfortable and self concious if I was in...
