Jaffelato — Restaurant in Rockingham

After wanting to try this place for ages I finally had a chance to go for breakfast today. My son got a donut and that was the highlight of the morning. Coffee was on par with other establishments around the area but the service was terrible. Took an hour for our toasties, yes they had 4 other tables and people ordering coffee so 20mins-half hr wait is acceptable to me but 1 hour. For 2 toasties and some unicorn bread (Nutella and sprinkles). When the food did come out it was quite disappointing, more sauce than filling in 2- homer and buffalo, the one my mum brought specifically for the hollandaise sauce you couldn't tell that one even had sauce and I had to actually look for the cheese in mine. Staff were unfriendly and the younger girl clearing and serving kept trying to take our number before our food had even come. I don't know if I got a bad batch (as other reviews seem to love them), but I found their vegan doughnuts very bland. They taste like the doughnut themselves are sugarless. The jam helped to add a bit of sweetness, but I couldn't get past the taste and texture (dry and cake like) of the doughnut. They were also very dark, so they were probably overcooked. The 'biscoff custard' had no distinct biscoff taste, it just tasted like custard (hate to repeat myself, but this was also bland). The plain cinnamon doughnut was the best of the 3, perhaps due to the addition of the cinnamon. None of the doughnuts were finished and ended up in the bin unfortunately. I ordered food from here this morning through DoorDash. I have been to this place before and really enjoyed the food! Knowing I live a little further away I was expecting the food to be a little cold as it needed to make the trip to my address.

I ordered the Homer Simpson and the hangover, very unfortunately it was as if someone slapped my order together and really put no effort into it, my pieces of bread were tiny also! Considering they are $15 each I was expecting a little more. The hangover I didn’t even get the chance to eat as the bacon was raw! It had no egg or sauce on it at all.
