The Chinese from the restaurant were delicious - food was great cannot complain!
However, may I comment on the rude service we received from the bar on Australia Day was disgusting!
We ordered some drinks from the bar, in which the person who served us got the order wrong (which is okay, we all make errors). However, when my mother corrected this worker, the body language we received was utterly poor and no communication was given to correct it, but only to walk away to assume to get the manager at the bar to fix it. After my mother said not to worry about it and ordering the extra drink we needed, she poured the drink and charged us, but was even more terrible was her attitude towards my mother. After serving it, she went up to the other lady worker and mumbled something which you could see she was complaining/bitching about my mother IN FRONT OF US?! We told this worker to drop the attitude and even myself correcting the worker that she was wrong in her order.. but told us we were wrong and that we had the attitude? Terrible! No apologies, not even a communication before it.
Sadly from this experience, we do not want to approach the same bar in the future if this how the bar workers treat their customers in the future. It’s really a shame because the other workers were fine and lovely. The food was actually quite good but this really does not make us want to come back for drinks. Thank you to the manager though for listening to our complaint and dealing with it...
Read moreI was excited to have lunch at the club as I had been away for 5yrs. I ordered a pork roast and my daughter ordered garlic cheesy bread and curried prawns and rice. The prices were a bit high ($53), for a club, but the food in the past was always good. The roast came out looking inviting, tried with broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, 1 roast potato cut in half, and a thin slice of pumpkin. All this topped with a brown type sauce. At first glance the plate presented well. The first thing I tasted was the pork. It was very evident it was not cut off the bone, as the succulent taste was not apparent. The sauce was not a meat gravy, and had a slight taste of soya sauce. I then attempted to cut a piece of cauliflower but because it was not cooked, I picked it up with my fingers. Now I know it it modern to have crispy vegetables, but this was insane. At a guess, I would say the vegetables were blanched and not par cooked. The carrots were sliced the length of the carrot and not able to be cut with a knife and fork. All the vegetables were raw, bar the potatoes and thin pumpkin. I was unable to finish my meal, and when the person came to remove the plates I complained and was offered this reply, "80% of the club members prefer the food this way". I was not offered a credit or replacement meal. I will not be eating there again. By the way I am 79yrs of age and have dentures. But this is no excuse. The...
Read moreOh dear, truthfully the worst meal I've had at a restaurant! The restaurant was busy and there was a 40 min wait for food (which i took as a good sign). I ordered the beef in black bean sauce with steamed rice, thinking you can't go wrong with Chinese food. I wasn't expecting anything authentic, just your standard RSL style Chinese. I wish I had looked at these reviews before ordering! The food was watery and almost vinegary with no real flavour. The meat was like leather and bland. There was a ton of veggies with about 8 token black beans scattered on top. I had a couple of mouthfuls, deluded in thinking it might get better but it was so inedible I had to send it back. The manager quite willingly gave a refund, which made me think he wasn't convinced of its quality either and that returning food might be a regular occurrence. It was like if you were a teenager just learning to cook, and you tried to make your mate dinner only using the ingredients you could find at home. Even then your mate wouldnt eat it. They should either take this off the menu or get a real chef, as there is no way this was made by anyone who knows what they are doing in the kitchen. Its a shame as its a nice looking place with potential, they just need to invest in...
