After arriving out the front we weren’t sure if this place was open or permanently closed. After phoning the contact number and getting our code to get in we quickly realized why we were the only 3 people staying there the night. ||||The room we got did not have any windows, but a skylight that was FILTHY and the bed was directly underneath the skylight, allowing cobwebs & debris to fall down. As soon as I laid on the bed and looked up I knew I had to shift the bed closer to the wall (about 1 meter). Also noting, there are no power points near bedheads, but lamps on the bedside tables with the cords pushed under the beds to be hidden? My mum uses a sleep machine that needs power hence also needing to be closer to a power point.||||We left the room tidy and headed back to Sydney from the funeral we attended down South. Only to receive a phone call saying that they wanted to know “what had happened to the room”? We were confused… surely she didn’t mean paying guests pushing the bed closer to the wall to have power to use a sleeping device. ||||Anyway, yes this was the only reason she had called to tell us it wasn’t ok to do so. ||||After trying to explain the reasons why (skylight disgusting & no power) she disagreed with me about the skylight being dirty. (Please see attached photo) ||I asked if she had seen the rooms, to which she said she had. Not sure if I was dealing with owner, management or booking agent.||||Pathetic service. Skylight needs to be cleaned. Beds need to be near power points. Get rid of the bedside table lamps if they can’t be plugged in anywhere.. And airflow needs to be accessible. I’m 7 months pregnant and felt claustrophobic. ||||You may want to avoid this ”faulty towers” hotel. We...
Read moreNot able to check in at 4:30pm on a Monday since the place was completely abandoned and I was required to call a local phone number which I was not able to with "only" a data sim for Australia. I'm a very frequent traveler and never run into a similar issue.
Room was in a very bad condition including a basically broken toilet seat and a leaking air conditioner (had to switch it off to not ruin the carpet). Toilet brush was covered with poo of former guests, no cleaning/replacing at all. Disgusting.
No room service although the room was empty + "make up room please" sign was outside between 10:30am-3:30pm.
Sleep was poor since a dog was barking half the night in the neighboring room and the walls seem to be there more for decoration purposes than to isolate anything. The ancient fridge with an according noice level opposite of the bed was not helpful either in this regard.
Overall by far the worst "hotel" experience I had on a 4 month trip across 10 countries (and the only place I don't rate 5 stars). Paid 400 AUD (280 USD) for two nights, the value for money is beyond terrible. Avoid.
RE their answer, I assumed the fridge is really old since it got an energy rating of 1,5/5 (sticker on the door) and is super loud as said, was surprised these things are even still around. Other than that I would be very keen to know which of my comments "don't appear to relate to our rooms" I just stayed in for two nights earlier this week. Anyway good luck with...
Read moreVery disappointed with the boutique management. We were contacted by the boutique after our 1 night stay and were accused of not paying the bill at a local cafe which we never went to. (The boutique did not know the name of the cafe nor phone number.) They said the cafe owner had come to the boutique and said that our credit card had declined. I asked her how she knew the cafe was referring to us since we had not eaten there, she said the cafe owner was very specific, it's obvious and apparently we gave our room number to the cafe owner. We are of Asian descent and in our late 60's. Since she had relayed this to us as alarming news that we had let this poor local cafe with the unpaid bill of a rather large meal, we wanted to clear this up as we had not eaten at any cafe. We asked for the cafe's name or phone number and asked to see the declined receipt. She was reluctant to help us and became defensive and said she is just the messenger and this is none of her business. ||Someone was going to call us so we would pay for the meal over the phone. A meal, the boutique accused us of having, at a cafe she did not know the name of.||After clearly saying that we needed proof, she then claimed it was a homeless person that had not paid for the meal.||We were her guests, she could have managed this odd situation without accusation and getting the facts straight before contacting her guests.||I would not recommend...
