Visiting from Toowoomba and I can tell you right now that there's nothing like this back there, or in Brisbane (as far as I've experienced). I visited Japan in 2019 and since then, never have I been to a restaurant in Australia that cares as much about presentation and authentic flavours as Japan. Until tonight. Easily the tastiest Takoyaki I've had since eating the real deal in Osaka, and the Tonkatsu Meal is 100% my top recommendation for a dish with variety and incredible flavour. My wife had the Ramen, and she was addicted to the broth. Seriously, there is such a clear passion and love for Japanese cuisine at Hanasaku and it is so apparent in the food. Not to mention, the aesthetic of the restaurant itself is absolutely perfect. The photos on Google Maps doesn't do it justice, there's such a care for the look and cleanliness of the environment you're enjoying your food in. I don't know what I'm going to do with myself now that I've been here, because I can't get this back home. The absolute highlight of my time here in Stanthorpe.

This place was a very pleasant surprise during a last minute trip up to Queensland. The restaurant was off the main street and in a nondescript industrial type building, the interior is basic but functional. Do not let the simple look put you off - the food is fresh & delicious. It could easily rival Japanese restaurants in larger cities, it just proves that you shouldn't bypass country town restaurants judging on looks alone. The pork tonkatsu meal was a good size for the price and the tonkatsu sauce tasted like it was made onsite and not from a bottle which is a huge plus. This place deserves to be way busier than it was when we are there.

Food was good but definitely need a more varied sashimi and sushi range as the main meals are nice but not the best I have had in the region. So would be nice to be able to order more fresh smaller options. The ramen had a nice broth and flavour but didn't taste like a authentic ramen and was missing alot of features like egg, shallots and the option to add condiments and the noodles were not the best quality... The chicken cutlet was cooked beautifully and was so tender and juicy. Would also be good if they had a larger condiment range then just soy and wasabi packets for a restaurant

Stanthorpe is very lucky to have Hanasaku! Visiting town recently a few of us had dinner here, and were very impressed with the food and service. Hanasaku is located off the main street, but is well worth seeking out. We had the Okonomiyaki, Takoyaki, Salmon Aburi, Unagi Don, and Chili Pork Don, which is a Korean dish done very well. All of these were delicious, fresh and well presented. It's not that common to find Okonomiyaki, the delicious Japanese pancake, and while a specialist restaurant might do something more spectacular, these were fantastic. The Korean chili pork bowl was hot and fresh from the wok, perfect amount of chili, providing your heat register is up with Korean standards :) Sushi is fresh, bright and tender, obviously made with great care. This restaurant is operating at a high standard for any city. I would highly recommend a visit and can't wait to go back when I'm...

Once again, we heard about Hanasaku through another local business.

As a fan of Japanese food and a former exchange student to the country I’m always keen to try a restaurant that is recommended.

Hanasaku didn’t disappoint. We enjoyed some pork and prawn gyoza to start. These were well cooked with the flavour balance being particularly good in the prawn gyoza.

We then enjoyed the chicken karaage curry and chilli and garlic chicken. The karaage was crispy and the curry sauce well balanced with a little zing. The rice was perfection! My partner really enjoyed the hit of chilli in his dish and the way the flavours had been developed.

The service was basic; but polite and courteous, as was the decor of the restaurant which also appears to run as a takeaway.

We enjoyed watching other dishes come out to the large table next to us and considering what we might like to try on a...
