The Pizza Place — Restaurant in Stanthorpe

Wait time and service was disappointing though pizza was good when we finally got it. Phoned ahead to order and was told ready in 40 minutes so we turned up a few minutes early and paid. A few minutes later we were told by the girl taking orders 7 more minutes as it was going in the oven - a few people were waiting and left soon after with their orders. 20 minutes after arrival we were the only ones left in the shop and wondering why it was taking so long - the girl taking orders was who knows where ... one of the cooks came to the counter with an order and asked if it was for us. It wasn't and I said what we were waiting for which he then found sitting on top of the oven in a pizza box ! Noone had bothered to call our order out or queried what we were waiting for after close to an hour after ordering ... and I don't know how long we would have waited if it wasn't for me saying what we were waiting for. I walked into an establishment Stanthorpe, they asked after I made a purchase , what I was doing after - I mentioned lunch - pizza at The Pizza Place. There was a strange look in her face, she said “ yes. It’s ok “, ( I should have heeded that look ) I walked in on opening. 12 o’clock. Ordered pizza and while I waited I looked around.

If I had looked around first, I would have walked out. The place is filthy. The floors not cleaned from the night before, food /drink stains everywhere - and god knows how long food has gathered around the corners of the dining area - the display cabinet where you can purchase pizza by the slice - you can’t see what’s inside the glass is so grimy. The front windows - equally as bad. Pizza was average at best. I hope the owners read this and get cleaning ! Wouldn’t return other nicer options...

Definitely recommend!! We're from the Gold Coast, staying at the Granite Belt Retreat, and were trying to decide what to do for dinner. I love pizza but wasn't going to just get Dominos, so saw the reviews and decided to give these guys a go. Very generous portions, I asked for extra jalapenos and actually got it. Both my husband's and my pizzas were delicious!! If we're back out this way sometime, will most definitely go there again!! No photos, sorry, as they smelled and looked so good, so we got stuck into them as soon as we got back to...
