My family of 5 went here for a very late breakfast. Half our drinks arrived about half an hour after ordering. And the other half another ten minutes or so later. Then half an hour after (with no drinks left to have with the meal) we got half the meals. Then a while later the other half.

Had we been told upfront the wait would be an hour+ long would have been a different story but we even had to ask them for cutlery to eat pancakes and bennes. Having four children constantly asking how long it takes and telling me that if they'd walked to aldi and walked home and cooked it themselves it would have been ready sooner šŸ˜…, they wanted to give 2 stars, but they've been conditioned by internet people, and I've experienced internet Karen's so I'm not that harsh!

The table was dirty (probably just an oversight) and I noticed numerous people come in the back entrance and then walk around confusedly wondering where to go. One couple managed to go through the door. But others left and went through the front door. I was completely unsure whether to wait to be seated or to find a seat; and then had no idea if it was table service or waited upon. Which is just to say, I think some signage for non locals would be a good move.

The children loved their food, just didn't feel it was worth the wait. The seating was lovely and warm and very grateful to the waitress who brought out our babies so we didn't forget them!!

Not impressed at all… Identity crisis on many fronts.. Hate to write a negative review. But the potential for a good eatery is there just needs execution and direction… Wasn’t due to lack of staff at all, it was direction from back and front of house and lack of communication..

Went for breakfast which is a hard menu to execute with wakening minds and personalities. But…. No welcoming staff, dirty premise, dirty table, terrible decor. First impression of 3-4 staff members on the coffee machine should have been alarm bells but pushed though to a waitress that was overwhelmed, not her fault as I soon realized was a lack of communication from kitchen and front of house manager. Ordered 4 piccolo’s and waited 25 mins… Ordered breakfast with in the first ten minutes and when waiting for 45 mins with no communication, we were promoted to enquire due to other frustrated customers and frustrated staff with missing orders and wrong orders, to be told it would be another 20 mins. Sorry you lost us… With a bustling tourism base of customers and ever increasing social media based society, this eatery/ cafe won’t last with identity crisis of the menu with several menus on offer during the day and lack of direction during a breakfast menu!! Would hate to see the rest of the day unfold!!!! Baffled to see this as number 1 place to dine in Stanthorpe… Would...

Went in after reading a stack of glowing reviews, but my experience didn’t live up to the hype.

What I ordered – ā€œGen Zā€ Avo Toast – $18 – Side of ā€œhouse-madeā€ hollandaise – $4

What I got • One slice of toast with the avocado served separately, coated in uneven, over-toasted dukkah. • Rocket leaves that were limp and yellowing – definitely not fresh. • A bottled hollandaise-flavoured sauce masquerading as ā€œhouse-madeā€ hollandaise. A real hollandaise should be a fresh egg-yolk emulsion made on-site; this wasn’t even close.

Why it missed the mark Misleading menu language. If you advertise ā€œhouse-made hollandaise,ā€ it should be made from scratch, not poured from a bottle. Produce quality. Old rocket and tired garnish suggest prep checks are being skipped. Plating. Avocado belongs on the toast, not on the side—serving it separately feels like cost-cutting, not creativity.

How to improve – Make the hollandaise in-house or rename it ā€œhollandaise-style sauce.ā€ – Serve ripe avocado smashed (or neatly fanned) on the toast so the dukkah and EVOO can soak in. – Use fresh greens or swap to something that keeps its colour.

I’m happy to give the cafĆ© another try if these basics are fixed, but right now the dish isn’t worth plus extras—and future diners deserve...

We came here for an early breakfast with our 1 year old Easter Sunday, and also got takeaway breakfast the next day. The staff were friendly and efficient, the food was delicious and generously portioned (pictured is the vego board) and the coffee was great! We ordered the largest size coffee each and were surprised that it was not only hot but nice and strong. Considering it was a busy weekend with many visitors like ourselves from out of town, we were impressed with how fast the food and coffee came out - much appreciated with a toddler in tow. Would definitely recommend, and go back next time.

Visited The Little Larder on the way to Armidale... oh what a place... loved the ambience, the service and the delicious food... An elderly couple recommended the cafe to us, a biggg thanks to them. It says how popular this place is amoung the community. The couple were proud to recommend the place. This is how word of mouth works, this is how the community will be remembered. Our memories of Stanthorpe will always be linked to this beautiful cafe and the wonderful service.

Was having high hope with all the great reviews. But really it is a bit disappointing, just average cafe food. Ordered the eggs Benedict and chorizo & beans. The beans are really mushy, tomato based source was average too. Eggs Benedict is quite nice. The worst bit is the butter for the sourdough, it must be just taken out from the freezer, still stone hard and there’s no way to spread it on the toast.
