I got the last dinning spot here on a Saturday night not realising the huge demand for spots I may have been due to a late cancellation It was first class in terms of country pub dining Nothing really flashy but good hearty fare The pub is a classic Queensland wooden structure with all the early 20 th century charm being built around 1916 but none other than Mr O’Mara who like myself was of good Irish stock

We went there for dinner with our VIP (very important pet). Amazing service from the moment we arrived to when we left. The food was amazing and the garden setting where we ate was beautiful, the whole hotel is a beautiful step back in time. The food was amazing, big portions and the price was very reasonable

A friend and I come in for lunch and both got the Mexican parmi and omg! Absolutely delish and the size of the meal for 32 bucks was unreal. Bar staff and kitchen staff are delightful and very welcoming. All in all 10/10 for every thing. Defiantly coming back next time I’m here 👌

Partner and I decided to take a road trip getaway to Stanthorpe for a week. Second night in we decided we would check out the towns night life and enjoy dinner out. We read up about a few places and O'Mara's stood out. We arrived around 7pm and upon entering saw a sign stating please wait to be seated, as we did that a worker basically yelled across the dining room infront of everyone "are you guys right?" As if to imply we were lost or something. My partner stated we would like to be seated for dinner and we were looked at like we weren't even speaking English. Instead of walking over she proceeded to holler across the room again (at this point everyone is staring at us) and says "sorry" in an annoyed tone, as she didn't catch what he said. He repeated himself and she then decided to inform us, still yelling might I add, still with everyone staring that they won't take us because they're full and they have 2 seating times, 1 at 5:30pm and 1 at 7pm. Nowhere on their website do they state this not to mention the dining room was practically empty, only 2 tables had guests at them..... We both left humiliated and disgusted at the service. I remember Stanthorpe as a beautiful rich place for tourists and welcoming people. I dont know where I was tonight but it's not the Stanthorpe I remember. Also what kind of pub turns people away on a Saturday night of a long weekend and school holidays at 7pm with an empty dining room?. Happy to spend our...

Negative rating all because of one particular employee. Walked into the pub after making a dinner reservation for 5:30. We waited at the area of the bar saying "please wait here to be seated" for quite a while but we could see it was busy on the other side. We moved to the bar and was eventually greeted by an older woman with straight brown hair to her shoulders. She barked "YOU GIRLS RIGHT!?" at us, making we feel like we shouldn't have even walked into the hotel in the first place. We stated that we had a booking and she goes "well sit down" and then walked out before we could even ask if there was an assigned seat. We watched her do this to multiple other people, a couple got yelled at to "speak up" after they said they had a booking for 2 and she misheard it as 5. I thought they were going to walk out at that point.

The food itself was really nice and the older lady from the kitchen who bought it out was super cheery.

I went to the bar to get a drink and asked if they had a cocktail menu and was again barked at by the same woman "we don't do cocktails". She actually rolled her eyes at me! And then walked away before I could ask to order something else. So I didn't even end up with a drink. Funny though, as your Facebook says you do do cocktails which is the whole reason I asked. Picture included. And even if you didn't. No need to speak to a customer like that for asking a...

Hi. I booked a table on Saturday 15th April. I was advised that there are two seating times. The first required guests to be finished and out 6.30- 45. Pm. The second was from 7pm til late, I booked the second, upon arrival at 7pm I have as advised that they were running behind 15 minutes and to go through to the bar and have a drink. My party of 4 did as requested, after 15 minutes I returned to the dining room to enquire about my booking, again I was told it wouldn't be long and when it was the staff would come and let me know. Within 5-10 minutes a staff member did come and advise that the table was ready, upon returning to the dinner I was aware that my party were the last two be seated, some 20- 25 minutes pass 7pm. We went to order only to find out that what we wanted was sold out. The point that annoyed was that due to being last into the room, the people who had been sorted prior had been able to get the items we were wanting to get. So we paid more and got steaks which were great, I just don't understand why my party was last two seated even though we were in the bar long before other customers had arrived? It looks like next time I should come to the first seating and just stay until I'm ready to go! This way you get all menus options. Feel very annoyed being treated this way, Hey but I will...
