This was my first visit to this lovely cafe/shop. All the produce is locally made - either by the owner Carolyn or others in and around Strathalbyn. I had the sausage roll ($6.50), which is served with home-made green tomato pickles - a tasty combination. The sausage roll was just the right size and dressed in a thin flaky pastry. Even though there is no indoor seating, apart from a bench, this does not deter locals and visitors alike to hang around for a chat. Strangers immediately feel welcome and before long a chorus of cheerful chatter fills the premises. There is limited seating outside but people can take their food to enjoy across the road in one of the most beautiful parks on the Fleurieu Peninsula 🌞.

I came to this coffee shop out of curiosity. Just as I had recommended, the owner was a very warm and friendly lady. Even though my English was not good, she still tried her best to talk to me. As for the sausage rolls and lemon cake, they were truly amazing. It was an unforgettable afternoon. I will definitely come again .

A month or so ago I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Carolyn, the owner of a gorgeous little Cafe in Strathalbyn. Her passion and love of the town and what she does was inspiring and her honey icecream is to die for! Amazing place and awesome local. Definitely pop past next time you are in Strath.

This place is a little gem. Owner operated, the person behind the counter is the cook, baker, sales rep and chief bottle washer. She knows everything about the ingredients and processes of her own products and other local products she sells. The sausage rolls with chutney were delicious hot or cold as was the home made chicken pate and the portugese custard tart I tried. Unfortunately, she was closed my last day in town or I would have been back to try more. Highly...

The Pickle Pot is our favourite café to visit whenever we are visiting Strathalbyn from Melbourne. Carolyn is so welcoming, makes the best coffee in Strath and produces and stocks incredible, fresh, local goods with quality ingredients: from mushroom and spinach quiche and baked cheescake, to Portuguese custard tarts and renowned honey ice-cream. Kid-friendly and dog-friendly, very...
