This was my first visit to this lovely cafe/shop. All the produce is locally made - either by the owner Carolyn or others in and around Strathalbyn. I had the sausage roll ($6.50), which is served with home-made green tomato pickles - a tasty combination. The sausage roll was just the right size and dressed in a thin flaky pastry.
Even though there is no indoor seating, apart from a bench, this does not deter locals and visitors alike to hang around for a chat. Strangers immediately feel welcome and before long a chorus of cheerful chatter fills the premises. She knows everything about the ingredients and processes of her own products and other local products she sells.
