Please find below a detailed review of my experience dining at Bettys Burgers Maroochydore. I had the double bettys burger. Decently filthy, dissolved in the mouth with each bite but lacked the makings of a balanced burger. Enjoyable but not thrilling, overall a moderately pleasant dining experience. Service left a lot of be desired as table water was not available until requested and was then provided in minuscule paper cups with no bottle. It seems this establishment underestimates the effects of their sodium, sugar and saturated fat concentrations or is simply in denial of their pertinence in the popular menu items. Service at counter was however fairly warm and made the requested changes to the burger (substituted tomato sauce for Betty’s special (standard dill pickle aioli burger sauce)) without mistakes or accidental extra charge. Oh and how could I forget! Chips. Chips were rather tasty, good salt ratio and went rather hard for standard sea salt seasoning. Structure is best described as a rough shoestring of low-moderate length with exposed potato skin evident on the ends, which added a certain artisanal appearance and a slight enhancement to the flavour profile. Due to the inherent structure of shoestring fries they were relatively lacking in heat retention at the conclusion of the burger consumption, but were easy to eat and the portion size was well fitted to my appetite at the time. Portion sizes overall, on a side note, are notably smaller than other establishments of a similar market placement and value is not superb but not offensive either. This review has not been a particularly decisive one, but I suppose that speaks volumes about Betty’s that they do not inspire, yet manage to scratch that itch when the opportunity...
Read moreWould have to be near one of the worst fast food experiences I’ve had in my entire life. The staff very clearly have no idea what customer service is, or if they even understand they work in a customer service role. Waited over 20 minutes (after my friend got his burger) for mine, and it was not busy whatsoever.
I then learned that the kitchen ran out of the mushroom ingredient going on my burger. It wasn’t the main ingredient, just an extra. I would have been more than happy to go without it; all the waitress had to do was come up and say “we’ve run out of mushrooms. Would you mind waiting until the chef brings some, or would you like a refund and have it without”, and I would have happily gone without, as it was the worst cooked mushroom I’ve ever had. It was so disgustingly greasy, you might as well have deep fried it. Soaked the whole bun making the burger unable to be finished. Never had to leave a restaurant still hungry and so unsatisfied.
Brought it up with one of the wait staff and was given a $20 voucher to spend on my next visit. Thankyou to the gentleman that resolved this for me, making the experience a little...
Read moreOver all poor service during covid you would expect a higher standard of sanitation and cleanliness, as we walked in there were three staff on the floor and three tables occupied and three tables dirty. It’s a self service/takeaway restaurant not table service so I was really Unsure of what the staff were doing, we witnessed lots of standing behind the counter doing nothing. We waited on the side bench top seating and as I tucked in my chair the seats were so greasy along the arm rest indicating the staff had not been cleaning the chairs between guests. I thought $32 was a bit expensive for 2 burgers and 1 side of fries for a takeaway shop, and to then find multiple bugs that looked like baby cockroaches in between the lettuce Of both burgers After taking two bites was disappointing. The chef offered to cook another burger, I declined as the problem wasn’t that one burger it was the overall cleanliness of the restaurant that made me loose my appetite and I can only imagine they were going to use the same uncleaned lettuce in the next burger so...
