I rather nervously booked a table for 6 for lunch yesterday. Nervous because of the very mixed reviews I recently read. I was last there over 6 months ago for Breakfast and found that the food had changed both in the quality and quantity and was quite disappointing. However, I presume there is a new chef from when I was there last thankfully as it was a great experience all round. The staff and friendly service was just superb! We all ordered different meals and they all looked and tasted great..my only wish was that the soup bowls were filled up more for $19 with maybe the option of a rye type bread...and the only other comment made by the girls was that all the rocket in the salad is so hard to eat and they said maybe less rocket and some other leafy greens would be much easier to eat..these are only small comments that did not deter from our lovely time spent there. We then had freshly baked (on the premises) date scones that were delicious with a beautiful, clotted cream and a delicious jam plus I just love real tea leaves in a decent sized pot..thankyou to all the staff there yesterday that served us and made us feel welcome and also to the chef who was friendly and did a great job. Keeping 6 girls happy isn't easy! and personally, I can't wait to go back to have the Caesar salad that one of our group had plus another pot of...
Read moreI use to eat here lots but it's slowly loosing me. When you first walk in your told its full table service but I've gotten used to nobody coming back to check in so I normally get back up to order. Menu has been simplified quite a bit from what it once was. Last time I was there I was given a smaller menu due to staffing issues. Settled on a Monte Cristo. Pretty disappointed in a thin slice of ham and cheese with some mustard. Quite tasty for a toastie but let's be real it's a cheese and ham toastie with a tiny portion of frozen chips for $23. Ordered a 10 toes ale and was handed a slightly cold unopened can without a glass. Now there is a 10% surcharge on Sundays including takeaway coffee etc bringing some of those toasties with a drink in around $35 +. It's a great venue and worth checking out and maybe not trying to cater for repeat customers.
Eudlo general store will do a great bacon egg roll and coffee...
Read moreThis place has the potential to be a really special little stop over, but the service is flat lining. Sign says wait to be seated and we waited there for ages with staff walking past and no one approached, so we asked to get ourselves a seat, I moved the dirty plates off and wiped the table myself, no one took our order although it's table service so I waited at the register until someone appeared, no cutlary served with food so we got that ourselves and although the menu says fresh squeezed juice we were served a concentrate orchy juice straight out of the bottle. The table next to us complained about being ignored also, plenty of staff around, just none that want to make eye contact. There was only a few bums on seats while we were there....
