Homegrown Cafe — Restaurant in Sunshine Coast Regional

Open but closed! We decided to visit some hinterland towns and planned to arrive at Homegrown around 1:30pm, for lunch. We entered the cafe at 1:45 and noticed a sign that the kitchen was closed. Lunch was being served to people, so clearly it had not been closed due to an issue. When we got to the front of the queue (1 person) we were told the kitchen was closed. 15 Minutes early! and from the reaction from the Staff, time is not something that they care about! They close whenever they wish!

If you don't wish to stay open to the time published then change your website and let the Public avoid considering Homegrown for lunch and instead make sure they arrive at least 45 mins before closing the kitchen,

After wanting to go here for ages I was really excited to try it out, especially after seeing a new special on social media which I thought looked amazing. Unfortunately nothing about the experience was great or saved it for me to want to return. Being 9am on a Saturday it was busy but not hectic. They had already run out of the special I was keen to try. I ordered and was advised it would be about a 40min wait which wasn't an issue. Over the next 55min until my food came, the wait staff tried to deliver numerous drinks and meals which I hadn't ordered, one of the staff was quite dismissive when I couldn't see where to get water and when the food came it was small for the price and average taste. Lovely set up outside with an abundance of tables, inside I can only imagine it can get alittle cramped esp with the table set up right in front of the service counter. Menu is very limited but nice to have the option of making up your own brekky. Iced coffee was strong for the size of the glass and 4 ice cubes just doesnt cut it on a stinking hot day, had walked in to ask for more but shop full. Perhaps allocating tables from FOH would help the servers as I saw many customers laying there table numbers on the tables while staff were running around trying to serve their meals...
