Palmwoods Bakery — Restaurant in Sunshine Coast Regional

We spotted this bakery on the way to Kondalilla and decided to stop there in the way home. There wasn't a great selection left but what we got was outstanding service from the young girl 👏. She offered my first choice (potato top beef pie) at no cost as she thought it was a little dry looking. It was only the outer surface that was quite hard but that didn't affect the deliciousness of the pie itself. We also bought the Cheeseburger pie and a Chicken Mornay pie. All were "bloody" delicious. I've found it hard to locate a decent plain mince pie on the Coast. The pastry was flaky, the weight was generous and the overall flavour profile was spot on. The staff are excellent - considering the high volume of foot traffic they serve each day. Every time we go, we're met with a smile, and kind service. Parking in front of the bakery is a must for me, and it's always a game of luck whether there is a spot available. I'm usually quite lucky! The choice of food and beverages is quite good, and each time we visit, if we can't get our first choice, we're able to select from a variety of other offerings. The availability of hot foods however is usually disappointing. They know they will be busy, yet never have enough hot food to cover opening times. I'm just sorry I didn't take the time to take photos of what we purchased. I'd have to say that it was the best pie I've had in a long time! Loved also that pie was square in shape, brought me right back to my youth. Had the chunky steak and did not disappoint. Many flavours to choose from, so good luck choosing. Now, onto the sweets.......chose the caramel tart with cream. Again, the best caramel tart ever had. Wasn't sickly sweet, 100% perfect! Melt in mouth perfect.
