Be aware that $39.90 is only for sushi AYCE. If you want sashimi included, it will cost you $49.90. Only told there, not on their socials. Hence, feel abit cheated somewhat. Modern interior, modern IT system with remotely controlled menu activation - they will activate your ipad with a la carte or AYCE menu. Limited options available for AYCE. Sushi options only comes in rolls. Big long rolls. Kind of defeats the purpose of AYCE where you want to try a variety of food rather than getting filled with one same big roll of sushi. This will work for a la carte. Should consider reducing size of roll for AYCE option. Sashimi options included salmon, tuna, kingfish and mixed platter. Felt the salmon looked abit off though it tasted fine. Maybe just how farmed salmon looks? But kingfish and tuna were great. Glass windows are ceiling to floor. It can be quite blinding if you go there during the day / lunch given lack of blinds / structures outdoors blocking sunlight. (Though i am sure many people love looking directly into sunlight.) No card surcharge. Very limited roadside free 2hr parking due to neighbouring construction. Park n Go is a few doors down if you are willing to pay. Front of house waitress that was serving us that day may not be able to deal with crowds during peak hours. Kibou gives you an impression that you are dining in a semi high end jap restaurant, and service should be as such including the basics of offering individual plates for each person on arrival of food, offering table water as a standard. Not sure I'll be back if they keep...
Read moreThe food was decent but not exceptional. The only staff member present was very kind, but unfortunately, they were the only one serving customers, which reflected poorly on the business. The food ordering system was frustrating, confusing and difficult to navigate using the tablet on the table. Orders for each person arrived separately, creating a disjointed dining experience.
I requested a paper menu, but they were unable to provide one and only accepted orders through the tablet. Additionally, the frozen items—such as spring rolls and prawns—were simply fried rather than freshly prepared, which was disappointing. I’ve never been to a Japanese restaurant that openly served freezer-to-fryer food, especially in plain view of customers. I had high expectations for this restaurant, given its stylish and upscale appearance, but unfortunately, the experience did not live up to the reviews I read. Not a very good vegan or vegetarian option unfortunately. Not...
Read moreStaff were BEYOND rude, I came for my birthday dinner as I have been going to Kibou since they first opened & haven't been in awhile. Thoroughly disappointed we had a booking for 7 (booked two days in advance) we were seated & then asked to move, which would have been fine if the waitress wasn't extraordinarily rude about it. She also didn't turn on the ipads for us to order & when we asked her too she rolled her eyes & only turned on one of them. She had an attitude the entire time, we were at the point we didn't even want to ask for chopsticks & we infact needed a couple of pairs as they didn't put enough out. Food was subpar which is so disappointing as Kibou offered the best of the best & now it is simply a sushi train spare the train & replace it with a hearty dose of attitude instead. I will not return to the establishment nor will any of the six others who were...
