Pt Cartwright Seafoods — Restaurant in Sunshine Coast Regional

I very rarely post a negative review however Point Cartright seafoods have earned this one. We had wanted to try their food out, however we've never managed to get that far. We had phoned them in advance on New Year's Eve to put an order in. We were told their hours and that they would not accept a phone order. We turned up within their stated hours to find they were closed when they clearly said they would be open. Very annoying when buying for a crowd! The other evening I was trying to put a phone order in only the phone wasn't being answered. I got in my car, nearly there when they finally answered and was spoken to very rudely that again they would not accept a phone order and I only had 10 minutes to get there to put the order in. Since I was only 2 minutes away I called in to place the order. I was obviously served by the woman who was on the phone because she was so rude. I had checked the menu prior and asked for the calamari pack. She spoke very rudely and said they didn't have a pack so I asked her to explain how they were to be purchased. She rolled her eyes, shrugged her shoulders and pointed to the cleaning work that obviously needed to be done and as a customer I felt very offended. I walked out of the shop because I felt I did not want to spend money with service as atrocious as this was. I understand that it was only 10 minutes to closing time however I also understand that in a company's stated opening hours there should be service! I will never step in that door again after being treated the way I was!

Perhaps better customer service training for staff could benefit...

This place is such a hidden gem. I have visited this place many times and they have consistently served the freshest, cleanest, and most beautiful seafood at the most affordable prices. From raw to cooked seafood, the quality is impeccable for a local seafood place and the prices are so affordable.

One of the biggest telltale signs of a good and clean seafood place is the smell. There are no fishy odours that indicate subpar seafood, instead you can smell sweet fresh saltiness that indicates good quality seafood. The seafood quality is so fresh that they have sashimi-grade ones available as well.

Their cooked prawns are gorgeous. They don’t overly salt their prawns nor cook them for too long till they dry out. The prawns are fresh, sweet, and juicy. I highly recommend them.

I am an avid seafood lover and I love having seafood natural because you can only do that with top quality seafood. Their natural oysters are superb and are my favourite. The sweetness and texture of the oysters show how fresh and high quality their products are.

Their battered fish is done to perfection in the multiple times I’ve had them. The fish is always moist and soft on the inside with no bad fishy smells at all, while the batter is crispy and beautifully golden.

The staff also add to the wonderful experience at this place. Every time I’ve been there, I have been met with a friendly smile and helpful service.

I love purchasing my seafood here, whether cooked or uncooked. It is my go-to seafood store and I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves...

Here is another attempt to voice our concern;

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to provide some feedback regarding our recent order (#288) from your shop, as we wanted to share our experience with you.

We live just a 3-minute drive away, and we typically enjoy visiting your shop. However, on this occasion, we encountered a few issues:

Snapper: The fish tasted distinctly like hose water, which gave it an off-putting and unpleasant taste.

Calamari: The calamari was served in a cardboard box, but it was sitting in approximately 3cm of oil, making it extremely greasy.

Chips: The chips were cold and soggy by the time we received them, which was quite disappointing.

Fish Cakes: Most concerning, the fish cakes were raw inside, which raises a food safety issue.

We were quite surprised by this experience, as we have always appreciated the quality of food from your shop in the past. We wanted to bring these issues to your attention in the hope that they can be addressed.

We would greatly appreciate any feedback or resolution you could provide, as we really want to continue supporting your business.
