Both our poached eggs came out overcooked so we asked for replacements. My wife was only given one replacement egg instead of two. We were then told the reason our eggs were cooked solid is because we aren't regular customers and this was told to us by I assume was the owner or manager so they don't know how we like our eggs. That doesn't hold up because our other two friends were given proper soft cooked poached eggs without requesting them soft. I suggested if you think egg preference is an issue you should be asking the customer how you like them cooked but normally poached eggs are served soft unless otherwise asked and telling us because we are not regulars we don't deserve to get asked how we like our food is not on. Also they couldn't make me a milkshake because they were short staffed apparently but they were able to make me an iced chocolate still go figure...
EDIT to respond to reply from owner
As I said initially if the choice of egg softness is a known issue to you in the past you should simply ask the customer their preference but you still insist we follow your procedure. How is a customer supposed to know what your procedure is unless you specifically state on the menu you must request your egg preference otherwise they will come out medium. You broke your own procedure anyway because our other two friends got served soft cook eggs without requesting them. By your logic they should have been cooked medium. Again I will stress it's standard practice anyway in any other restaurant to serve eggs soft cooked unless otherwise requested. My wife cut into the first egg to see it was medium cooked.. She did not eat it. The plate was returned with the egg yolk hard cooked still there when it should have been taken and two soft cooked eggs given. Fair enough about the milkshake but thats a bad business model to have if you can make an iced chocolate but not a chocolate milkshake they both have the same ingredients except the milkshake is put on the milkshake machine so doesn't require much more effort Your response comes off as rather rude as was your attitude on the day. You really should rethink your attitude if you are going to...
Read moreDropped the dog off at Miss Chi Canine Salon for some pampering (great place by the way) and decided to take ourselves off to The Steaming Cup for some pampering of our own. We arrived shortly after opening time and the cafe was a little warm inside … understandable as the aircon hadn’t had time to cool the place down. We ordered a couple of ‘breakfast-type’ burgers (absolutely delicious) and a couple of coffees. I ordered a vanilla latte and my wife ordered an ice coffee. My latte was exceptional (Tim Adams coffee .. you’d expect nothing less) and I was feeling very chuffed with my selection … until my wife offered a sip of her iced coffee (apologies for the iced coffee photo … my wife couldn’t wait). Generally I’m not a fan of iced coffee but today I made the wrong choice … I know what I’m having next dog grooming day! The staff were patient, helpful, friendly, and engaging. This is...
Read moreBest Coffee in town by far!.. But that is it....... the place is to big for what it is, its cold and they are trying to go for a industrial old time wood mill sort of theme that just makes the place sterile, its so big they even have a gazebo up inside to fill up the space with some coffee and tea equipment for sale. The food is shocking... 7am no other customers ask for a bacon and egg roll and they pull one out of the fridge take it to the kitchen then "DING" bring it back .. the bacon was undercooked the whole things was nasty !!! Why why cant you just put a Bacon and Egg roll together fresh??? Why would you ever pre - make what takes 3 mins to make fresh??????? I will be back for your coffee but will never eat here again. My best advice would be hire a local "mum" style cook for your kitchen to sort this...
