Swanbourne Fish Bar — Restaurant in Swanbourne

I barely ever write reviews and generally I write them for a positive reason but this one is different. I have been going to this fish and chips store for as long as I can remember but In the last couple of months they have changed management. So I thought I would go down there and support them so the first time I went there I was exited and the food was terrible the batter was falling of the fish and the squid rings were disgusting. I thought a couple weeks later that I should give them another go and it was once again inedable. For some reason tonight I decided I will give it one more chance and it was so bad we had to throw some of it out. I’m just sad that my local fish and chips store has gone from being the best fish and chips I have ever had to the worst fish and chips I have ever had. I highly do not recommend. I am never going back.

Good chips the first time and good amount for what you pay.

We went back and got x2 fisherman baskets, they combined the chips and didn't make 2 separate ones which was a bit annoying but fine still. But the food was not as good as the first time. I think when everything is deep fried it becomes sickening. I would like a choice of having the sea food grilled fresh.

Don't get me wrong still tasty and was fine in the sceame of things but yeh I suppose I'm speaking personally so don't let me reflect negatively on the shop. As I said it's a lot for a short amount off money and hot chips are hot chips at the end of the day.

I would recommend the shop to sell some other stuff and make the shop a bit more nicer to sit in. (Customer service).

Absolutely terrible! We ordered grilled fish, prawns and squid which were soggy and like rubber, not the mention the chips tasting like they had been re heated with no salt.... We decided to take them back to be told that there was absolutely nothing wrong with them.

The manger reached into the bag herself trying each item telling us everything was absolutely delicious, then told us again... there was nothing wrong with them.

They refused to refund us any money, not to mention the manager at the time didn't have the time of day to stop what she was doing and speak to us face to face. Strongly recommend not to go here! Terrible customer service and terrible, tasteless...
