Bondi Public Bar — Restaurant in Sydney

Very disappointed. My friends and I have been coming to public bar for a long time and we went on Sunday night, and saw just how much they care about their customers. Not at all. We had made a booking at 7:30pm, somehow they mixed up our booking and we had to wait in the freezing cold until 8pm. My friends and I complained about being freezing and stated that we had waited for half an hour, to which the lady on the door responded in a rude manner and such horrible attitude “you haven’t been here for half an hour”, sorry 25 minutes, but I would say that’s rounding up to half an hour. She then rolled her eyes at us and walked inside in an angry rude manner. We then were seated right by the side when we requested to be in the main area by the right side of the bar. I asked the lady if I could speak to her manager. To which I got an even ruder man, his name is Baul, I told him what happened, and asked him if we could have free drinks or something to make up for the terrible situation, I asked if we could have our table moved which I would much rather than the free drinks. He refused both saying that it’s impossible for him to move our table, how is it impossible to move a table when we requested to be in the main section 2 weeks in advance. He never apologised for what happened and for the rudeness we experienced. I told him I was very unhappy and would write a review, to which he responded are you threatening me, I said we have received terrible customer service and I will write about it. He said that he would come back to us with a solution to resolve the problem, he never came back. My friends and I noticed him being horrible to his staff as well. It just shows that public bar doesn’t care about their loyal customers at all, such rude people working at this place. They don’t know anything about good customer service. I had a negative experience at public bar amidst the corona virus reopening. We were misled. We lined up to go into public bar, where our friends were. We had previously called and the automated message told us that you were still taking walk ins if we were prepared to wait. The bouncer asked us if we had a booking when we were in the line at approximately 8:30, to which we responded that we did not. We were given a very rude response of “nope” and then we were ignored from there on. We expected by this response that we would just have to wait. We went for drinks around the corner for an hour, then returning to ask the same bouncer if we could wait for someone to leave in order to go in to see our friends. He responded with a rude smirk, shaking his head. We were told that you were only taking bookings to our surprise. We had waited an hour to get in, whereas we could have gone somewhere else had your staff not misled us. In the future, if you are only taking bookings, can you have consistent information on your website, phone message, and from your staff members. I understand that the COVID circumstances are difficult but it seems unreasonable to not let a group of 3 walk in at 9:30pm when you are not at capacity. I won’t waste my time on...

Went for lunch a few days ago when down at the beach - really underwhelming. Nice bar / restaurant area, good music - but very poor service. It was extremely quiet with only about 6/7 tables in, between 2 of us we ordered a Bondi Bowl, Tuna Tostada, Pork Taco and Fish Taco. After 25+ mins the Pork Taco came out, 5 mins after this the Tuna Tostada.. then 10 mins later the Bondi bowl came out, and then after another 5 mins waiting we had to go ask a member of staff for the fish taco.. so over 45 mins waiting to get your order brought out in stages at a time when the place was quiet as well. The Fish taco was also cold when it arrived after the girl went to the kitchen to chase it up, so I am assuming it was forgotten about. We wanted to eat together so by the time the Bondi Bowl and Fish Taco finally came - the Pork Taco's were really soggy as they had been sitting for over 20 mins. (I had thought they might actually be out catching the fish for the taco / Tuna tostada it took that long, as these aren't very time consuming to prepare) On top of this the staff are very disinterested / unenthusiastic and seemed more keen on standing about chatting with each other or doing everything in slow motion.
