Get Sashimi Bondi — Restaurant in Sydney

Ordered sashimi and sushi, sashimi was really excellent but the sushi was not up to par.

The restaurant has really nice window display but it is so tall that it is so hard to tell the staff what sushi I want. And they put the cashier really high up so it’s so hard to tap my card.

We can only choose takeaway or conveyor belt. We chose takeaway and there is some nice and clean table outside for you to eat.

We ordered the tuna toro sashimi. Not gonna lie, the toro sashimi is the best I had! It is really fresh and has even fat distribution. The soya sauce was pretty fresh and dipping it was a perfect match. Price is high but this quality it was worth it.

I was disappointed with the sushi. First of all, the sushi was not fresh enough, the seaweed was soft, tuna in sushi roll was not fresh. Second, the seasoning was too much, spicy salmon has too much spice, covering all the salmon flavor. Other sushi does not have a well balanced flavor to make the freshness stand out. Third, they fail nigiri sushi. The fish was supposed to be burnt a little but they burnt the rice as well.

We went to this sushi spot in Bondi Beach after a friend recommended it, and honestly, it was a good call. I went there a couple of nights ago for dinner, but we made sure to wait until 8:30pm. Why? Because that’s when they apply a 50% discount on all sushi pieces, which makes a big difference.

There’s a huge variety of sushi, so I ended up picking a bit of everything, I couldn’t decide! Just a heads up though: fresh salmon and tuna sashimi are not included in the discount. I really wanted to try them, but I’ll save that for next time.

As for the sushi itself, it was pretty good. Nothing mind-blowing or super special, but honestly very decent considering the price with the discount. Everything tasted fresh and was nicely prepared. If you’re looking for super fancy sushi, maybe this isn’t the place, but if you just want good sushi at a great price, especially in a place like Bondi Beach, it’s totally worth it.

One tip though: be punctual. Make sure you’re there right at 8:30 or even a bit earlier, because if you arrive late, a lot of the best pieces will be gone. People don’t mess around once that...

I visited the store on the 14th November (the day before yesterday), and ordered Paradise prawn, Salmon, Oysters, Scallop aburi and sweet chilli octopus along with flathead sashimi. The food was really good and I asked to do a take away on Paradise prawn, asked the staff if take away is possible and if it is fresh to eat today or the day after. I was told that they would be able to pack ice along with it, one hour would be okay and also it would be good to eat until the next day if left in the fridge. Took away 9 Paradise prawns, with ice, arrived home and had all of them for dinner. My whole day (lunch and dinner) was from the GetSashimi, I had nothing else except for it. I was puking from the next morning and so much more. have reached out to the store but no replies. I would watch out for Oysters, Sashimi or raw prawns. I don't think anybody deserves this pain after a happy meal
