We had our wedding at Cafe Gusto on the weekend and Anthony and his staff made our experience so smooth and easy. With restrictions easing only 12 days out from our Wedding date, Anthony still managed to accommodate a menu tasting and arrange floor plans for both our ceremony and reception. The location was beautiful with enough parking for all our guests and the space outside with the koi pond was a perfect setting for canapes and group photos.
One of our main concerns was making sure that our guests would be satisfied with their food during the reception. On my first meeting with Anthony he told me not to worry and that their servings are very generous. We opted for the 3 course menu with the 3 tiered mixed platter for starters. Upon feedback from our guests, everyone was surprised at the quality and quantity of food served. So if you have a family like mine that can eat a lot, the Cafe Gusto menu will not disappoint.
The staff were friendly and accommodating to all our guests needs and our covid safe check-in was all taken care of without an issue. They even welcomed our three little dogs into the cafe with bowls of water to drink during the reception. From the minute we arrived to the final check out, we couldn't have hoped for a better place to host our special day. If your guest list fits the space, I can wholeheartedly...
Read moreWent here for the first time as a guest for an engagement party. Upon entering, the place is in an amazing spot, open concept with large windows you can see the beautiful landscape . The staff were the absolute best, approachable and very friendly. The reason for the low score was due to the management for the food. As someone who has worked previously in hospitality especially for functions, timing is key. Unfortunately it was missed with the food. The program was to have 2 sets of appetizers, 2 sets of mains and desserts. On arrival at 2pm, first set of appetizer was placed, this was taken away and 45 minutes later the second set was placed. Once completed another 45 minutes later the first set of mains was given. By this time it was around 4:45 pm and more than half of the guests had left without the rest of the mains given and desserts. The staff were trying their best and being helpful however at 5pm all mains were packed in boxes for the guests to take home. This was the worst experience to have witnessed as the program was not delivered to the customers expectation. For 90% guests to leave without having the full experience of this beautiful place had placed a sour note on the consumers. Above all as a cafe fantastic I rate it 5 stars but for having a function here would not recommend due to failure in...
Read moreWe recently attended a function at Café Gusto and were very impressed with the venue and staff. The setting was beautiful, and the team were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to make the event enjoyable.
That said, there were some challenges. Small details, like no ice in the water/soft drink jugs, meant drinks were warm. More importantly, the kitchen seemed to struggle with the size of the group. The potato gratin was unfortunately undercooked and served cold, the steak was well beyond well-done and also cold, while the beef ragout—though perfectly cooked—was under-seasoned and quite bland. The biggest frustration was the timing between each of the four courses. With each course arriving on average an hour apart, this made things especially difficult given the large number of children present.
Overall, the food was disappointing compared to the outstanding service and venue. I do feel this was likely due to the larger group size, and I imagine a smaller booking would see the kitchen perform much better. With such a wonderful space and excellent staff, I’d be happy to return, but I hope the kitchen can smooth out these issues for...
