Read moreI shall start by saying that I wasn’t expecting this place to be anywhere near as good as it turned out to be. I find that in this artistic and culinary wasteland that is Sydney’s North Shore, it’s very hard to find a really good cafe, restaurant, bar, pub, live music venue or any other cultural touch point that could be considered even somewhat civilised. … but what do you know, I have just found a little oasis of class and culinary sophistication in Roseville. Exceptional food from a beautifully curated menu which stands absolutely head and shoulders above any other similar operations in the area. I ordered a bacon and egg roll which far exceeded my expectations and completely outclassed any similar fare in this shockingly bland suburban area. Ample amounts of perfectly cooked, crispy, streaky bacon laid upon fried eggs still runny yolk that were paired with rocket, a smokey and harissa vibed tomato relish, garlicky aioli on a lovely soft milk bun. It was served with an excellent homemade fermented chilli sauce on the side, that whilst not excessively hot, but layered, complex and eminently delectable. Service was laid back, friendly and the whole vibe here is welcoming, comforting and just a very pleasant place to hangout. It’s the sort of place you can visit on the North Shore and easily pretend that your not actually anywhere on the...
Read moreAlways liked this cafe, great coffee and food. The cafe itself is small but they have managed to make sure there is enough seating to fit quite a few patrons except for small children. I asked if they have had a high chair today for my daughter who is too small to sit at a regular chair (and it would be nice to eat my food and coffee without her sitting on my lap) and they don't have a single high chair. This meant I had to get my pram out of the car to accommodate her which also meant trying to fit it amongst the chairs and seats in an already tight space. A high chair would be the practical thing to have and fit better than a pram in the space, not to mention it wouldnt be excluding an age group from the cafe. Its clear to me they dont care to have young families frequent the cafe by making sure they cannot accomodate them. It's a shame as I would come more often if my whole family could actually sit at the cafe. It really is a bit of a wonder why they dont have a single highchair. In the end it made me feel...
