Came here with 2 others for a dinner. We ordered the Set Menu for 3. We got 3 curry puffs & 3 spring rolls for the entrée. We ordered the Pork Chop with Peking Style, Shan-Ton Chicken and Oyster Omelette for the 3 dishes.
The curry puffs and spring rolls were cooked well and had a good crunchy outside. The Pork Chop with Peking Style was our favourite, great flavour and a generous serving size. The Shan-Ton Chicken was also very nice - authentic flavour with the vinegar, spices and herbs. The only downside of the food was the Oyster Omelette, some sections of this dish were too salty or too fishy. But, all the 3 dishes had quite a big serving - while our group normally eats a lot, we still had leftovers.
The service was quite fast, and all the waiters were extremely friendly and helpful. While this set menu normally has 6 curry puffs or spring rolls, we were allowed to get 3 of each so we could try some more variety. The atmosphere and seating is a little tight in some areas, which is one of the other downsides of this restaurant. If you're not a fan of cramped restaurant spaces, might be better to get takeaway so you can still enjoy the great food.
Overall, this was a very enjoyable experience - great authentic food, and fantastic service team. This Canton Noodle House also has cheaper prices compared to other suburbs. The other times I have come for take-away, I have enjoyed the Wonton Noodle Soup. If you come here, I recommend the Pork Chop with Peking Style, Shan-Ton Chicken and Wonton Noodle Soup. We will...
Read moreI've come across this place for the occasional dinner sometimes but now it has become one of best lunch spots in Riverwood! Their bargain lunch specials solidifies the restaurant's popularity and reputation in delivering high-quality, authentic Chinese cuisine. While the setting is small and can be quite cramped during peak hours, the liveliness of the place sets you up for a hearty and delightful meal. The friendly, talkstive servers are always there to attend to your needs and are constantly on their feet, a truly admirable trait. Food can come at varied times but the abundant portions and flavour is consistently hitting the bullseye of absolute deliciousness. I highly recommend their rice noodle dishes including the classic beef chow ho, the heat of the wok emanating through the savoury, mouth-watering noodles and tasty beef slices. For an extra kick, the chilli chicken chow ho brings the taste to another level with a captivating spice. The beef chow mein is an amazing, textured experience where you can indulge in the symphony of the crunchy deep-fried noodles, the viscous sauce and the refreshing vegetables altogether. I also suggest trying the black bean dishes which possesses an unique sauce that explodes with the strong taste of black bean undercut by a hint of sweet fruit rind. Whether served with rice or noodles, the black bean sauce is a delectable highlight. Ultimately, Canton Noodle House shines as an epitome of a neighbourly Chinese restaurant that has mastered both fulfilling food...
Read moreRiverwood is becoming a small Chinatown of its own. If you’re think about dining at canton think again, it’s not worth your time and money. Before Covid-19, I honestly remember Canton served nice food & HK milk tea. The quality, service and price has since downgraded.
It’s only a small restaurant, but can fit approximately 25-30 people internally and extra tables externally if it gets packed. The priority is takeaway because we saw a lot go out, while the hungry starving guests waited patiently for their dishes to arrive.
Hygiene is an issue here, I’m not sure what to think, the tiny toilet room can bare fit a person in there and has a wash basin built into the toilet. Where does the water come from? I’ll leave that to your imagination!
Food: not all dishes are fresh. I did enjoy the crab pot with vermicelli (probably the best dish worth mentioning) What you pay for is not what you get back in return. The dishes are expensive and please note if you order a set meal it does not include rice (sold separately). They are trying to make as much dollars they possibly can. And please don’t order the cold milk tea drink, it’s watery...
