Chicken Man is, without a doubt, my absolute favourite restaurant! It's incredible. I consider myself truly blessed that it is on my way to work. You know how you get that feeling, first thing in the morning, and you know that only one thing is going to satisfy you? I get that all the time. And, as luck would have it, when I get that feeling, I know that all I have to do is get off the train and walk right in to the Chicken Man to satisfy my craving. It doesn't even matter what I order - everything on the menu is of comparable quality. The flavours, the textures, the grease - it plays upon my tongue and trickles down my throat as I walk across the park to work - then as soon as I get to my desk and turn on my computer, just like clockwork, the explosive diarrhea erupts. It's entirely uncontrollable, which is a true blessing, as it enables me to convincingly commit to the performance of affliction. I strain to contain the chicken manifestation, sweating, red-faced, panicked running to the toilet - but all too late! Pandora's Box has already been opened! The brown trickle that appears at the edge of my socks confirms what my colleagues have suspected all along: the bulge in the back of my pants is not evidence of the butt implants I have been promising for so long to acquire. I am shamed, disgraced. My boss orders me to go home. I get to go home! A day off for free! I can go to the movies, the aquarium, the ruins of Australia's Wonderland! The world is my oyster! Thank you Chicken Man! Thank you! You have given me the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moremy family have been coming here for thirty odd years. iām twenty and my mum ate here routinely when she was pregnant with me, and iād happy eat here every day if i could! i am a HUGE fan of fried chicken. i love the stuff. iāve eaten it everywhere. this is by far the best iāve ever had. better than KFC or red rooster or any other local shop. the seasoning is fantastic, sort lemony which makes it moorish. the chips and gravy are seasoned the same as well. iāve been eating here weekly for twenty odd years and iāve never had a bad piece of chicken. i canāt recommend this place enough. i work in the CBD and whenever i tell someone i live in Kingswood they ask me if chicken man is still open, they talk about how delicious the chips are. this restaurant is a penrith staple and i wish it was a franchise!
a side note: two notable staff members. a south east asian girl with red hair. i think sheās relatively new, and sheās fantastic. another with dark, long curly hair. sheās been working there for six months or so. incredible...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMade a special trip to try this place out after numerous people recommended it to my partner and I in our work places. Now I myself am a bit of a gravy connoisseur, if a place has gravy, Iām going to try it. This gravy was very thick and absolutely beautiful. At first it was a bit weird as I had tried it on its own, but as I let the flavours do their magic in my mouth, it was nothing short of AMAZING. Their chips were perfectly seasoned, perfect match for the gravy. The fried chicken was nice, moist and crunchy, but is fairly generic. If they added just a little more seasoning to either the chicken itself or to the breading/coating, it would take the chicken from an 8/10 to a 10/10!
Still an absolutely amazing meal and well worth it! The wait time wasnāt long at all, it was like maybe 5 minutes between ordering and receiving! If youāre in the area and feeling hungry, look no further for quick and delicious! It is a little $$ but...
