Clementines Cafe — Restaurant in Sydney

It’s such a shame that I can only give 2 stars, after being here 3 times in the last 6 months the food has honestly remained the same which is terrible. It’s really unfortunate considering the coffee is amazing, as is the play area both indoors and outdoors. My toddler loves coming here with her friends as it’s genuinely such a nice atmosphere. Sadly however the food is just so bad. Each time I’ve come I’ve ordered the same, poached eggs on toast, added bacon and hollandaise. The poached eggs are essentially boiled, the toast is thinly cut rye bread which is so over toasted it’s like a cracker, the bacon seems to of been just taken out of the packet and sizzled on a cold pan for 30 seconds (not crispy at all and Luke warm at best) and the hollandaise is just OK. This is a very basic order in terms of skill set, I just don’t get how it can be made bad each time. My last visit my friend had accompanied me, her whole plate was less then warm, the mushrooms were not cooked in the middle, no flavour seasoning nothing - she left most of her meal on the plate. I think if they can upskill the chef this place would be absolutely 10/10 but otherwise it’s not a nice place for food. I think coffee and play time is best but otherwise there are plenty of other cafes nearby for good food. I will however mention the pricing of the food is very low which appeals to the public especially during recent times but I would spend a little more just to get good quality food. Came around lunch time. Ordered through the app, our hot chocolate came first after 20mins of ordering, food came approximately 40mins after ordering yet everything was burnt. My partner ordered big brekkie, he feels as though they cooked everything in the same pan, they all tasted alike even the mushroom. The granola was really bad, the mix they used tasted old and the spices did not blend well. My bacon and egg roll was the same, even the buns used were also burnt as well as the bacon and egg. We also ordered a danish bread not only was it old and stale, they also gave us the wrong flavour.
