Weâve come to Malabar Beach a few times and love it but this was our first time checking out this cafĂ©. We dined in and were blown away! One of my favourite Aussie cafĂ© breakfast experiences ever. Between us we had (canât remember exact item names): Two brekkie burgers â best brekkie burger Iâve tasted in over five years in Australia, fully loaded and everything was so fresh, from the hash brown to the cheese slice and everything in between. The mushroom on sourdough â amazing whipped herbed ricotta, perfect with the mushrooms and rocket, and ordered bacon on the side which was perfectly crispy but not too crispy Ricotta and berry hot cakes â I loved how the berry compote had a bit of spice - cinnamon? - paired well with the ricotta and everything was sweet but not too sweet! Great with the fresh fruit too. The babyccino was generous and the mocha was sooo good, nice dark chocolate taste and hot, which made it last longer! (Important when youâre a parent with lots of interruptions from bubba and toddler đ) I canât speak to the other drinks but there were no complaints in our group!
Service was friendly and quick as well. Weâll...
Read moreItâs a cute little cafe with plenty of seats!!! Very pleasant lookout to the Malabar beach, airy with big windows and nice beach themed decorations. Certainly good vibe with local people. They sell ice cream for kids and small pastries to go as well. We ordered house soda, chocolate milkshake, hot cakes and big breakfast. Drinks were very sweet for me and a bit small in size, but definitely refreshing. The hot cakes were pretty to start and delicious. Fluffy pancakes with maple syrup and ricotta cheese, well balanced in sweetness and slight saltiness. The big breakfast was standard, but on the good side because it doesnât look like soaked in oil, each item was cooked perfectly keeping itâs own natural flavour than oil and herbs. The service was good as well, staff was friendly and helpful, fast enough service. I would definitely go back there again, to enjoy such a good...
Read moreBrought to takeaway, 2 acai bowls and 1 regular almond flat white it was $40.40?! It was $16 for each acai and therefore that means the coffee was $8! What a rip off!
Also the acai on the menu said it came with a choice of Nutella or peanut butter, the server didn't ask what I wanted so I enquired and she 'ah ok what did you want then', I requested peanut butter for both. I got the order after a 20 minute wait and proceeded to the beach, I got to the beach and realised that the peanut butter hadn't even been added and the size of the acai bowl for $16 was ridiculously small, no way enough food for breakfast, it is a snack - an expensive one. (I'm a AU size 8 woman and it didn't fill me up!)
I have acai bowls all the time from the eastern suburbs and this is the worst value I've ever had! Hardly any acai and about a tea...
