The Crown dragon restaurant sits on the first floor of The St George Leagues club. With plenty of parking available, once you sign into the club you take a grand flight of stairs up one floor to a large foyer with multiple rooms leading off it.

The restaurant is a immaculately clean large open space with the familiar surrounds of a large banqueting hall with round tables for 2 to 20 people. We were a party of 6 hungry people arriving at 1130am to partake in one of our favourite family style dining options ~ Yum Cha.

The service was polite, friendly and took special care in ensuring the 2 children in our party had forks incase they weren't as fluent with chopsticks. This wasn't an issue for the younger ones on the table but a couple of older members gratefully accepted the silverware on offer.

Chinese tea, came hot and fast while we waited for the first trolley load of goodies to arrive. There was the usual suspects like suimai, all manner of steamed dumplings, chicken feet, spring rolls and Chinese vegetables in oyster sauce. The flavours were good and everyone seemed to be enjoying the meal.

A very pretty trolley full of jellies and sweet soups also did the rounds a few times, enticing us to try a wobbly multicloured jelly for the kids and egg tarts for the big kids.

The restaurant began to fill up around 1230, so if you are planning on dining on the weekend I would suggest you get there early. I did enjoy the food, though was not blown away by the flavours with a lot of them cookie cutter rather than exceptional. But what did blow me away a little was the price, $160 for 6 people and 2 of them under 10 did seem rather excessive...

I recently the leagues club for yum cha and found a wide selection of seating available upon arrival.

Unfortunately, the experience was underwhelming in terms of both service and cuisine.

The quality of the dumplings was disappointing, as they were overcooked to the point where the filling would spill out upon being picked up.

While we were dining, the staff prematurely offered us take away boxes, despite the fact that we were actively eating and had just received our final dish, untouched. It seemed as though they were eager for us to vacate the table, even though there was no queue of patrons waiting for seating. Our meal was not merely a quick dine-and-dash; we engaged in conversation and enjoyed our time, spending approximately two hours and over $250 on our meal. There was no indication of a dining time limit posted anywhere.

The staff did make rounds to provide fresh plates, which was appreciated by some in my group. However, my own plate remained relatively clean, and I declined the offer for a new one. Despite this, while I was in the midst of eating, they proceeded to clear my plate without my consent. I was taken aback by this abrupt action, unable to express my dismay with a mouthful of food. It was quite impolite for them to remove my plate with food still on it.

Upon placing our order, the staff seemed puzzled when we requested multiple servings of a single dish. It’s reasonable to anticipate that a larger party would order several portions of the same item to share amongst the group.

Given the amount we spent, I had anticipated a level of service that matched our...

I love this Chinese restaurant (which is in Kogarah) in the St George region.

It is situated in St George’s league club ❤️ Simply check in using the NSW services so that you are COVID-19 safe ✅

To be honest, I have been to this restaurant a few times now (I have lost count) but this has got to be my favourite Chinese restaurant in Sydney hands down!!!

The food was super fresh, scrumptious and amazing flavoursome goodness, how can I describe the food!! I loved every single bite!!! And OMG the crab claw was one of my favourites!! Super crunchy in the outside and very soft and fleshy inside, it melted in my mouth!!! So damn good!!

But everything I ordered were amazing! The egg tarts were super crispy... Am I making you hungry yet??!! 🤤

And let’s talk about the customer service!! From the greeting at the door, to leading us to our dining table to looking after us, they have been nothing But exceptional!! They provide top service, they were friendly, funny, bubbly and just made us laughed the whole night... they looked after us until we left!!

One waiter said I looked familiar haha, and then he also rubbed my brother-in-law’s belly like a Buddha belly for good luck hahahaha 🤣🤣🤣

We drove to the restaurant (probably best to go by car or maybe bus) I am not sure how long the walk is from the train station!

The restaurant was beautiful inside out, from gorgeous chandeliers outside the restaurant waiting from.

Very clean, spacious, gorgeous interior and lovely ambiance (a bit of fine dining and casual feel to it)

Happy customer always comes back for me! See u...

The food is good for yum cha, however could be better. The salt and pepper squid legs was missing bit of the salt, so it tasted bit bland. I like to see speckles of salt on the salt and pepper fried squid. The prawns in the rice noodles was completely white. I'm used to seeing some pink colour on the prawns. Obviously, I don't eat prawns too often. The other dishes were good. Minus the star because of the flavour. The service was good and fast. Ordering from the menu is a lot easier than the traditional yum cha trolleys. The food arrives a lot quicker compared to trolleys. They were happy to provide extra sauce when requested, at no extra charge. As soon as we walked into the restaurant, we were seated at a table straight away. After sitting at the table, the yum cha tea and chilli sauce arrived. Didn't have to wait too long. The tables were mainly clean. Had to wipe something stuck in my bowl, it was easily removed with one wipe. Location is good, inside the St George Leagues Club. There is plenty of parking there.
