Benvenuti Cucina Italiana Carlton — Restaurant in Sydney

It is with regret that I have written a negative review as I order often from this restaurant and the food is delicious. I ordered my usual $70 worth of food through menulog. As my order hadn’t arrived, I looked outside my window to see if perhaps they were on their way only to find my meal sitting on the ground near our entrance on the driveway. The driver did not ring the door bell, I don’t know how long the food was left sitting outside but it wasn’t hot. I rang the restaurant and the female staff member I spoke to simply did not care. She advised me it wasn’t their problem and that I needed to take it up with menulog. I suggested to the female staff member that perhaps in future, so that something like this doesn’t reflect badly on their business, when she hands the food to the driver to deliver to “their” customers, if she could tell the drivers to ring the door bell when handing the food over to them. Her response, “ I don’t have time for that”. Really? It really doesn’t take a lot of time to speak very few words. Appalling attitude and very disappointing as my partner and I have enjoyed every single meal we’ve ordered from this restaurant, but this attitude shows the lack of professionalism and is the attitude of someone who doesn’t care about their customers. Such a shame that this restaurant could not see the value in customers who choose to spend money at their restaurant regardless of a menulog driver incapable of ringing a door bell. Really poor business model when no effort or attempt is made in customer service recovery. First of all I am Italian/Australian And I’m not gonna tell you that I’m the best of all taste but I’m pretty overweight I do know how to eat and I’m here with three beautiful friends and I have a bottle of red wine and a great little place thst remind me of the foid in trastevere italy. Let me started off with a beautiful Aracini balls that were a crunch in your mouth when took a bite it was to die for then a we had a Venice stlye beautiful crab pasta that had a flavour of crab right through and my fellow friend had a fettuccine Bolognese and him being a very fussy person was quite impressed polish the plate and left nothing behind and myself Well ate it all the calamari beautifully battered crunchy just right with the red wine I could go on all day about the food I’ve been here twice now in two weeks And believe you well like or love it but I do think that you should give it a try yourself believe me you’re gonna love it and it’s BYO as well how awesome is that And the vibe and the service and Michael the chef and the waitress are fantastic polite and very friendly and that’s what I like when you walk into a restaurant it makes me feel like I’m...

I've eaten here a few times and have never had a bad experience. The food is always amazing and being able to absorb the Italian atmosphere - as someone with Italian heritage - is something that I will never take for granted.

This time, I was nervous about an upcoming exam and asked in my order if someone could write a nice message wishing me good luck for it, assuming that it would get skipped over as they were busy. Lo and behold, I see "Buona fortuna" written on the pizza box, and an incredibly sweet handwritten note saying that I'm going to smash the exam. Words cannot describe how grateful I was for the care and attention to detail from hospitality workers, who are usually understandably overwhelmed, especially when I arrived to pick up my order and saw the restaurant was packed! Not to mention that the pepperoni pizza was absolutely delicious too.
