Coffee very nice But 1st time there I stood at the wrong counter and got told to move quite abruptly No atmosphere to the shop and the the croissant wasn’t that nice
When I said thank you and left they looked at me like I was interrupting them no acknowledgement I will be in Springwood weekly for the next few months so will try elsewhere
23/5/23 I went there again this morning for breakfast. I had two eggs on toast. I asked what sauce I had if I didn’t ask for it but hot mustard (not a sauce) I asked for Dijonnaise or hollandaise sauce
When I returned it, the male chef shook his head in discussed and looked right at me. If I wanted mustard I would’ve asked for mustard.
Also, I don’t like how you get told quite abruptly to stand on the right side of the counter when obviously they regulars come in and walk straight into the serving area near the kitchen on the left-hand side and wait for their coffee but others get told to move this is the third time I’ve been here. How ever, today I sat down at a table and after being ignored for 15 minutes (this usually woundnt bother me if it wasnt for the fact that there were only 5 other people in the cafe) I finally asked if someone could take my order. I hadn't even been given a menu yet and I was told in a rude tone of voice that you order at the counter and its not like theres any signage that says this helpful piece to the puzzle, and im sorry, but how many cafés do you go to and have to order at the counter especially considering the staff dont even give you a menu? So im supposed to sit down, wait, get up and find a menu, sit back down, read the menu, get up and order and hey while im waiting in line to order, leave the table open for the taking causing even more confusion and embarrassment if someone sits at my table? Sorry but no. Doubt ill come back after this!
On a side note. The food and coffee is pretty effen good and...
Read moreAsk me where the best smashed avocado dish I've ever had is from, and it's DBL. But it's so much more than just the food and great coffee that makes this place special.

That includes the way customers engage with the DBL crew and vice versa. Banter. Rapport. Smiles. I speak from experience. These people are my friends.
It's a fun place to be which is why I keep going back: for lunch with friends, meetings with colleagues or just going solo and working, while I wait for yet another smashed avo to be placed in...
