I moved from Melbourne to Blue Mountains 18 months ago; and was very happy to have found a decent pizza bar in Napoli Corner when it started in Springwood last year. Prior to Napoli Corner there was nothing in the way of decent Italian or pizza bars from the restaraunts I knew like in Melb. While the pizzas are great (and with some benefit of the doubt given for maybe having an off night); unfortunately coming out of coronavirus perhaps this restaurant is trying a little too obviously to save some costs by passing up the quantity of pasta served.. I honestly don't go out of my way to review a restaurant ever; but at a group dining event someone on the table was served quite literally about five or six pieces of ravioli on a dish that was charged something like $26 dollars. That is completely ridicolous and it would be laughable in an Italian dining precinct in an urban district; to be serving like that. There was another guest at the table who ordered a risotto and I was told later they had mentioned that it was their favourite after eating last time; but had mentioned in passing it didn't look like the one she had last time and looked a lot smaller.. Fair go because its a great pizza place, but since moving from Melbourne to BM I am seeing a trend of 'monopoly style' serving of meals in a few restaurants that serve certain qualities of food; but because they know this they can end up skimping on portions substantially. $26 is $26 and we may be post covid-19 now (and the pizzas were still amazing)- but if the pasta portions remained like that in future I think it would be wise to just stick to their...
Read moreI popped into Napoli Pizza Bar in Springwood recently, and their pizzas are seriously good. You can tell they’re all about fresh ingredients—everything from the dough to the toppings tastes like it’s made with care. The crust is spot-on, crispy outside but soft and chewy inside, and it holds everything together nicely. I tried their lamb and potato pizza, and it was a treat. The lamb was tender with a nice savory kick, and the potatoes were thinly sliced and cooked just right. I also had their mushroom pizza, and the mushrooms were fresh and earthy, paired with a tangy sauce that tied it all together. The staff are friendly, and the place has a chill, local vibe. If you’re in Springwood and want a fresh, tasty pizza, Napoli Pizza Bar is definitely...
Read moreNo much for leaving reviews but, in the interests of constructive criticism, here goes.
I had the chilli prawn pizza. Much too much cheese used. Prawn shells and tails throughout. I understand the rustic appeal of leaving prawn tails on but, if you are going to do that, have them sit on top so that they can be identified and removed rather than sitting under a thick layer of cheese, only to become apparent while eating.
The base was doughy and undercooked. The dough style could not really be described as Napolitano and you can tell that it hasn't been proved for an adequate amount of time given the density of the crust and the sloppiness of the base. Nice to have a proper pizza place in Springwood again but product was not great...
