I have never made a review on Google, but this moment stands out to me and even after having arrived home hours before writing this review, I still feel that this should be broadcasted.
My husband and I were at Richmond Marketplace today when we witnessed something that absolutely deserves recognition. A lady and her toddler were sitting enjoying their coffee and donuts when, out of nowhere, an elderly man on an electric scooter drove into their table, he then seemingly without any care or consideration, drove away. The poor woman had her coffee spill all over her, and it was clear she was both startled and in pain.
Without missing a beat, one of the Donut King staff members who was a small young lady with a white hair bow (I should have asked for her name!), immediately sprang into action. She rushed over with a cloth, put out a wet floor sign to prevent anyone else from slipping, and quickly got her coworker to hand her something to soothe the woman’s burned hand. Then, she left the food court and came back just a few moments later with the janitorial staff who cleaned the area up quickly.
Even amidst all that, she was gently checking to make sure the toddler was okay (thankfully, the little man seemed just fine!). After everything was handled, she went back behind the counter, personally remade the coffee, and even brought the lady an extra bag of donuts, showing so much genuine care and compassion. It’s rare to see such quick thinking, professionalism, and heartfelt customer care these days. This staff member handled a moment of disaster with grace and empathy, and she truly went above and beyond. I really hope management recognises the incredible person they have on their team and she should really be so proud of herself.
Thank you, Donut King for not just making amazing donuts (Our kids love getting the hot cinnamon donuts on their way home from school!), but for hiring people who clearly care about others. That kind of service stays with you. We don’t come out to Richmond often, but we will most definitely stop by again for some coffee and donuts if we are out this way...
Read moreAbsolutely disgusting what I witnessed today at Dount King. While at Richmond Market Place I decided to go and buy my nephews some donuts to take home as a treat and witness the rudest manager I have even come across.
The young lady’s serving were so friendly and polite and had around 8-10 customers a mix of waiting to order or waiting on their coffees or donuts. When I can to order the young lady was very busy but so polite. Half way through my order what seemed to be the manager cam out from the back and very loudly so all could hear said you were not busy yesterday why was the end of day cleaning not done properly. The two lady’s servicing looked at each other and you could see they felt humiliated. Then the manager went on to say I could kill you for not doing it properly. Then when the manager realised that I heard looked at me and said what are you looking at you don’t work her. Then went back outside.
Running a hospitality venue myself I would never allow or tolerate such a rude employee. This is work place bullying and harassment and will be taken further. The younger staff out the front were so humiliated and each customer that heard the manager asked the lady’s if they were alright. Once I received my order I asked if I could speak to the manager. To which the young server came back and said she won’t speak with you.
This in unacceptable behaviour for any form of employment and for a big chain like dount king a real shock when you have so many younger staff working for you and you seem to allow a franchise to be like this.
I expect a response and please not that this matter will be taken further and we have hard evidence and...
Read moreThe multiple times I have been there, the manger is up front rude to his employees. Yells at them in disgust, the poor young employees are all humiliated but they way the owner speaks to them infront of clients. A message to owner: you should really think about how this affects the young people working for you because on the other side of the counter, it’s bloody disgusting watching you speak to them like that. If you’re not gonna be nice find something else to do that’s not being a manager or owner. Clearly that work isn’t cut out for you. Maybe some of these employees, it’s their first job the least you can do it be nice and understanding of each employee situation instead of being utterly disrespectful. So what if it’s busy people can wait, and your employees need your support which you fail to...
