My partner and I dined here last night and we were quite shocked by the service that we’ve received. We were dining outside as we had a dog and the Server did everything she could to avoid our table. We think she may have been scared of dogs, however this does not excuse the service that was provided.
Once we have ordered via the QR Code, she dumped cutlery and bowls onto our table before hurrying back into the store. When serving our food, she squeezed between my partner and the wall to avoid coming to the other side where our dog was. At one point she nudged my partner with a bowl of hot soup motioning him to take it just so she can avoid serving it to the table. She then proceeded to dump the bowl onto an empty seat beside him before hurrying back into the store again. It was around 8:00pm so the store was not busy and only had 2-3 tables in total.
I’ve given an extra star as the food was decent (some items can be oily but nothing terrible) and it came out quickly but we won’t be back again. It’s a shame because I recommend this place to my partner as I came previously with our dog (served by the same person) and didn’t run into any issues. We would’ve understood if she communicated that she was scared of dogs but instead we were left confused and tried to make sense of...
Read moreI have visited the restaurant a few times now and usually did takeout. The food was tasty but like many other cheap Chinese in Sydney they are also oily and loaded with MSG!
I have to say the Sweet & Sour Pork is the real thing, it doesn’t soak in cheap sweet plum sauce and soggy like most other places, however still very oily! The prawn fried rice is also good but the green beans with minced pork was way too salty and oily. I have also tried Salt & Pepper Squid and Salt & Pepper Pork, Gongbao Chicken stir-fried handmade noodle also tasty but most of the dishes were just way too oily. Dumplings were ok, not as good as I expected especially after reading the reviews here. BBQ Pork Buns were great. Pan fried pork bun was very crispy on the base but didn’t taste very nice. Pork with chives dumplings were ok but the Wonton Soup was disappointing!
Out of the six visits, twice the MSG amount was acceptable but the last four takeaway left us a very sleepless night with thirsty mouth, we have to keep getting up to drink water!
We decided we won’t go back because of the heavy use of MSG. As they are usually busy — popular with students, the wait for takeaway is 20-30 minutes weekdays and much...
Read moreThe store is small, not much seating. Tables were dirty so I had to share a seat with someone else (luckily they were almost done and left before my food came out). I ordered the soup buns and the bbq pork buns. The bbq pork buns came out first. I have gotten them at multiple different restaurants and they were all the same size. These ones were TINY! Like half the size of the standard. I only got two because I expected them to be the standard size, so I wasn’t satisfied. The soup buns came out about 8 mins later. I normally order xiao long bao but they didn’t have it so this was the closest thing. They were steaming hot, which is good. But I was hungry so I burnt my mouth trying to scoff them down. They were also surprisingly larger than I expected. They didn’t have a lot of flavour though in my opinion. Overall I wouldn’t recommend this place - but this is coming from a white person and I’m no food connesuir I just know what I like so take this as you will. Just over $13...
