Father’s Day embarrassment and extraordinary rip-off. I booked early on and was not aware that a special Father’s Day menu at $80 head for 2 courses was introduced after my booking. There were only a choice of 3 options for entree and main. Anyway we went with the flow thinking that the food would match the price. The kids meal $22.50 for the kids chicken schnitzel and chips was Steggles out of the packet! When we asked the waiter what was this grey looking “meat” (it did not look like chicken, more like grey processed mince from a sausage roll), he was honest and said it was a bad piece from the Steggles frozen box! $22.50 for that? There was no apology and no offer to serve her pasta instead. The rest of the meals were a 5/10 or 6/10 at best. But when you are paying $80 for 2 pieces of rockmelon wrapped in one piece of prosciutto and a steak (which remarkably was not bad)- the score should be lower, as they were hardly worth that extortion. So apart from our daughter not being served a proper meal on Father’s Day, the lack of the restaurant trying to correct or improve our experience- they simply did not care to remedy (even the offer of free coffee would have been a nice low cost gesture?) will make us never go back but rather tell all to avoid. What a shame! It’s a bit of a hike down and up the stairs, the only plus is the setting and the view. I rarely post bad reviews, especially in current times when finding staff is tough- however for this cafe to have the balls to impose a very substandard and overpriced Father’s Day 2 course meal, they really should just stick to serving coffee. You only have a certain amount of cafe/restaurant meals in your lifetime, and we walked away feeling very disappointed and ripped-off. This is not how you want to celebrate Father’s Day. This is just greed and perhaps desperation. If this continues, the place will barely survive. Sadly, even some of the waiting staff seemed to know that their offering was poor quality and value but were not in a position to say or do much! I hope this review will be read by the Owner and uses the feedback constructively before it’s too late.

Really lovely restaurant. Hidden beneath the cliff and trees 🌲 is this beautiful gem. It’s a little bit of a walk down a flight of stairs but down here, next to the peaceful river full of parked boats 🛥️ is a beautiful area to have lunch, It has a wedding 💒 function area but also a separate outdoor restaurant overlooking the running river. There is a variety of dishes with a lunch and brunch menu (we had the lunch menu) and also a bakery 🥯 , all French inspired 🇫🇷. The male waiters seemed stern at the beginning with the female waiters seemingly fun and enthusiastic 🤩. The food is alright though. The steak 🥩 was by far the best with the sauce and crispy chips. The kids fish and chips 🐟was alright but a little overpriced. The beef carpaccio was good but not amazing. The pasta 🍝 was by far not up to standard, the white sauce was literally flavorless and had more of the consistency of water. The fruit 🍎 smoothies were good and fresh and they literally make it on sight. By the looks of people around us with their ordered food, they looked quite happy 😃 so that is a plus. After the meal, we had a walk around the docked boats which was relieving. On the way up you can ask the staff to ride this mine cart like thingy to get to the top of the cliff which is much more easier. This is when the male staff seemed more friendly and willing to help. 👍 Overall, a well experience and would be excited to try other dishes and their bakery. Solid 4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

I'm Very angry, Disappointed and embarrassed to have booked my Birthday breakfast with my friends in this place... The customer service is not customer service at all. I booked a table for 16 guess at 10:15am, as soon I arrived the (owner/manager) asked me where my guests were and I said they were on their way... He was Very sharp and rude. At the time he said the kitchen would close in 30 min, he try to connivence me that he told me that when I booked online and it wasn't true. I quickly try to txt all my guess and asked to hurry up. But, why would they accept a booking for 16 people 10:15am if the kitchen closes at 10:45am?! They expected us to get seated and Order and eat in 30 min?! He offer to keep the kitchen open 10 min more to wait for everyone. Ok nice, but, he was so rude serving my last 2 guests he threw the menu at them and rudely said u have exactly 30 secunds To choose what u want. His face and tone of voice was so aggressive the whole entire time, we were embarrassed just to be there. Looked like we were a buch of homeless and he was just having to tolerate our presence. Breastfast very ordinary(nothing special) but, good service?! Doesn't exist!! The bill was $16 wrong(extra items charged on) But, we were too uncomfortable to stay any longer so we payed quickly to leave. By the way, he raised his voice with my pregnant guess, just because she didn't like the presentation of her plate(was very poor in size and look) and my friend sent it back and said to one of the waiters she didn't like it but she would pay anyway(because she didn't want to talk to the manager). As the birthday girl, I felt terrible to choose this horrible place. Around 11:40 am they asked us to leave(I still had the cake to cut) because luch time was about to start at 12pm. We couldn't split bill. My suggestion: 1- dont let anyone book a table for a big group at least 1 hour before the kitchen closes. 2- in the email to confirm the booking for big groups tell them: don't be late, don't split bills, don't expect to sit all together(we had 2 tables of 8 seats next to each other but not together). 3- if your not a kind person don't be a front house. No one deserves to cope with a bad atitude and rudeness at 10:30 am on Sunday! WELL DONE MANAGER YOU DESTROYED MY BIRTDAY BREAKFAST NEVER...

Beautiful view. Unfortunately not a good experience. Shockingly bad customer service and very average food.

We came for breakfast on Father's Day and had booked a high chair when we made the reservation. It was just my wife and our 1yr old.

My partner had been before for lunch and loved it, so it may have just been they weren't prepared for a busier morning with Father's day on. Whatever the case may be, we had a terrible experience.

When we arrived, we were told all they would bring the high chair out soon. After 20 minutes, I went and asked the staff member who had greeted us on entry and reminded her about the high chair. She said she wpuld bring one over immediately. Our food arrived and we asked a third time. This time she told us the only high chairs they had left had mold we could have them if we wanted but they didnt have any.

So my wife held our son in her lap while I ate, then I took him for a walk while she ate. And ofcourse, there were three high chairs that were still at tables that had been vacated for some time. So either just lazyness or understaffed or disorganised. Whatever the reason we spent our Father's day breakfast having to keep our boy on our laps.

We also ordered a soy coffee and an oat milk coffee. When the waited brought them over he told us it was a regular cappuccino and an almond latte. When we told him that was not what we ordered, he said " sorry this is the soy and oat milk I just get confused with so many dockets"

The food itself was nothing to write home about. The eggs benedict I had slight undercooked poached eggs with runny whites and dried out overcooked bacon. The coffee was not good in my opinion.

Finally, when we went to pay the bill, the young lady at the till asked aus how was everything. When we said we were disappointed she clearly wasnt listening as she replied "Glad you enjoyed it" 🤣

After we paid we took a walk on the marina to see some boats and one of the large sunbrellas flew off its mount about 3 meters into the side of the building. Luckily no one was sitting at the table it flew onto.

So a shambles all round and about the only person who seemed to be on the ball was the kindly old gent who called the...
