EDIT: Note to the customer (Susie?) who ordered takeaway tonight, and came back because she hadn’t paid / underpaid, but then expected to get a half-price meal because she’d ‘done the right thing’ — you’re awful. This amazing restaurant has been on life support for the last 2 years through Covid. Unbelievably embarrassing watching you berate the waitress, ask to speak to the manager (lol), and aggressively try to squeeze a discount out of them just for doing what any decent person should’ve done. Unbelievable.
Original review: We go here a lot. Costs a bit more than your average Chinese takeaway, but the food's consistently great. Service is first rate too, and the restaurant's always meticulously clean. ✨
Went here to grab some takeaway last night and they were busy, so food took a little longer than expected. While we waited the staff made it super clear that they hadn't forgotten about us - gave us prawn crackers and drinks while we waited, they were really gracious and warm.

Generally it's ok but the vegetarian spring roll little dry on the inside. Second was the inexperienced Vietnamese Waiter who did not even know what Chinese tea was and gave us some generic Flower tea which is not the same & When i asked for a Fortune Cookie or small little chocolate mint he actually did not know what a fortune cookie was and gave me these little coffee cookies you have. Whilst dumplings were GREAT the other dishes were Good... Just good. So have a go yourself. you may like it but i missed the experience of the Chinese...

Two of us grabbed a quick dinner there last night - we started with the aromatic shredded chicken salad which delivers a tongue numbing buzz, and the fabulous smashed cucumbers. These were followed by the garlic prawns with broccoli and the shredded pork with pancakes. The flavours are authentic and unabashedly spicy, the portions are generous and everything tasted fresh. They’ve relaxed their BYO policy which means you can take your own bottle (corkage will apply) so we will be frequenting Fantong more often. Thrilled to have them return to the neighbourhood. Although Haba Ocean do unparalleled live seafood, when it comes to Northern Chinese flavours, you can’t...
