Great Meats Co — Local services in Sydney

Have been travelling out of my way to go to this butcher for some time now. Since they opened I believe. A friend referred me.

Great meats co is my go to for bbq supplies. tomahawk steaks, brisket, chicken thighs, wings, and sausages.

The quality is A1 and the price reasonable. Service is also second to none with the staff knowing their stuff.

The owner (?) also has awards up for bbqing showing they are not only passionate about their trade but good at it.

My favourite is the tomahawk steak. Get GR grade if you can. Smoke it and caveman for best results. The habanero and cheese sausages are the best I’ve ever had as is echoed by everyone I’ve made them for - note - these must be smoked not bbq’d.

Impressive butcher with quality meat, good range of game/unusual cuts, topped off with outstanding customer service. Went here seeking beef cheeks for a dinner party. Found online they had wagyu at reasonable price. Rang first, offered to put aside for me. Got there, staff fantastic, all the meat looked so clean, fresh and good my husband and I bought ALL the wagyu beef checks they had PLUS scotch fillet, lamb cutlets and 2 eye fillets. Well the quality of the meat speaks for itself. I may be a chef but I had to use the oven grill for the scotch tonight. Not ideal. Defrosted the scotch, grilled unseasoned untouched. Well bowl me over…….it was divine with just sea salt. No mustard required. GO HERE OR GO HOME....

I was very impressed by the high-quality cuts of meat and bones. They have a wide selection of products and they are always fresh and well-prepared. The staff have been helpful every time I have been into the store, answering my questions and giving me advice on how to cook the meat. They are friendly and professional, and they make me feel welcome.

I highly recommend this butcher to anyone who is looking for quality meat and bones in Leichhardt. They are the best in the area and they deserve...
