I'd had take away once before, and loved it, so was really looking forward to my first dine in experience on sun night 6/11/22.
On the plus side, I really like the industrial setting, and the pizza bases were again top notch. Also our waitress, who I understand was new - a young lady with short hair, was lovely and helpful.
My drink was lemon, lime and bitters, which are usually made expertly at pizza restaurants of this calibre. I'm 90% sure that it was not mixed on site and was some sort of bottled generic drink brand.
My daughter's Margarita pizza was excellent, but my Americana was a real let down. I've eaten many an authentic Italian pizza in some of Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne's best pizza restaurants, and I'm well aware that lots of cheese is not to be expected, but getting enough is also important. Unfortunately there was barely any cheese at all - more than half the slices had no cheese at all! The ones that did, had the tiniest amount of cheese, and I found myself hoping to come across some extra morsels hidden under other ingredients, but sadly my hopes were dashed. Additionally, there was too much red onion, so the pizza ended up tasting like a warm salad on an amazing pizza base.
At the end of the meal, I wanted to pay and was directed to the counter just inside. Nobody was there, so I sat down at my nearby table for a while and waited for someone to appear. This seemed to drag on for a while, so I decided just to wait in line. I was second, and the que gradually grew to 6. Still nobody in sight, so I asked the chef working right beside the counter if he could send somone to the counter because there were 6 people waiting. Finally a man appeared. When it was my turn, he asked me how everything was, and despite being apprehensive about providing challenging feedback, I felt I had to mention the clear miss with the lack of cheese. He simply ignored me while processing my payment.
I left feeling let down, frustrated, disappointed, and ignored (by the man at the counter).
This place has the potential to be amazing, but needs to work on the right balance of toppings, and a much stronger prescence and better performance from the...
Read moreA Culinary Journey to Italy at Filante
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Filante, an Italian gem that exceeded all expectations. The authenticity of their pizza and pasta is nothing short of remarkable, as vouched for by my Italian colleague whose taste buds are a testament to genuine flavors.
From the moment the first bite of pizza touched my palate, I knew I was in for an extraordinary culinary experience. The pizza crust was perfectly crisp, with just the right balance of chewiness, and the toppings were a harmonious symphony of flavors. Each slice felt like a journey through the streets of Italy.
The pasta dishes were no less impressive. Cooked to al dente perfection, the pasta retained a delightful texture, while the sauces captured the essence of traditional Italian recipes. It was evident that Filante’s kitchen was dedicated to preserving the authenticity of these beloved dishes.
To conclude our meal, we indulged in desserts that elevated our dining experience to new heights. The Tiramisu was a heavenly blend of delicate layers, each infused with the rich taste of espresso and mascarpone. The Ricotta with mixed berries was a delightful finale, showcasing the chef’s expertise in balancing sweetness and tartness.
Beyond the delectable food, the ambiance at Filante is warm and inviting, complementing the overall dining experience. The attentive staff further contributed to the evening, providing impeccable service without overshadowing the star of the show – the exceptional cuisine.
In summary, Filante is a true culinary treasure. Whether you’re a seasoned aficionado of Italian cuisine or a first-time explorer, this restaurant is a must-visit. Prepare your taste buds for an authentic journey through the flavors of Italy, expertly crafted by the skilled...
Read moreThis pizza’s is simply: Killer!!!!
Location: people at first, may gets confused o the location. Not exactly in the spot you would go for a really italian pizza. But, folks, don’t be posh, and let’s not be afraid to try new places.
Service: Italy style! So friendly in delivering their services in all the aspect. I love workers/owners, when they feel themselves, totally comfortable with clients. It makes you feel, you’re part of a family. And seeing they’re mood, makes you feel the same. People sometimes ignore that, but the way we feel has an important influence on how others gonna feel. Personally, I can only thank you guys, coz I hate winter, and all I needed yesterday, was exactly what I’ve got from you!
Food: whaaaaaat!!!!!?????!!!???? I promise, this is the best pizza I’ve tried in Australia, since a very while. Perfectly cooked, really well filled, and the dough was soooo light. We had 6 or7 pizzas (at some point we stop count) plus dessert. All the ingredients were super fresh, and this makes your belly feels saved from getting fat.
I suggest this place, if you want to eat pizza! If you, instead, are seeking for a fancy night out, feel free to go in the CBD, or around, but, then, ask yourself why, they don’t have good reviews on the quality of the food.
You’re NEED FOR PIZZA? Filante mate!!! Go Filante...
Thanks for having me and us. I’ll see...
