Have had Cloris for lunch twice in three days. The first time, we only tried their chips: they have a perfect golden crunch yet are light and fluffy in the middle. Also, they toss the chips with salt in a bowl before packing them in the box, to ensure that they are evenly seasoned. Best chips on this stretch of Botany Road, for sure!
Our second visit, we had the chicken tower burger and fish tower burger, and gave the sweet potato fries a try. Delicious burgers with fresh ingredients - the chicken tower burger features 3 layers of crispy, freshly fried chicken schnitzel goodness. It also has mashed avocado in it, and I was delighted with the generous amount of fresh avo.
The fish was juicy and flaky, with a light, gently crispy batter coating. And there's mashed potato in the burger! Would love to see mash as a burger ingredient more often because it absolutely worked in this.
Sweet potato fries are great as well with a nice crunchy outer layer and soft middles.
November 2023 update:
Chips are as good as ever - $7 for a large. They gave a beautiful thin lightly crisp crust and fluffy insides. The fried chicken wings are $7.80 for a pack of 6. Very crunchy and they have been marinated so there's some spice flavour (spice, not chilli) but lacking a bit of salt. The chicken bites ($8.50) have the same flavour.
The brownie ($3.30) is very moist and chocolatey and has almost a souffle-like texture (more melt-in-the-mouth rather than chewy). I think it is gluten-free which would make sense as the texture I described is similar to that of a flourless...

Out of the blue, this little gem pops up on my lunch break!
It started with a gamble on their halumi and chorizo beef burger. A burger that will surely give you an indication of both the quality of ingredients and skill level of the cook.
It was superb. Halumi was grilled flawlessly, and the chorizzo was bang on. perhaps a little too oily, but its chorizo...
The quality of the beef patty is what really surprised me. From outward apearances, clorris is the kind of place that you would expect a good deal and friendly service... but not likely a 5 star burger patty. Buy i was so wrong. Their mince quality is superb. I don't know where they are sourcing it from, but they picked a winner.
Clorris is fantastic. if you ever find yourself down the ass end of botany road, do yourself a solid and find a park opposite the pub and grab yourself a burger.
On mulpiple visits i have had the spicy chicken burger, southern fried chicken burger and the pulled beef burger. all of them are just awesome burgers. Their fries are also very well done. crunchy, well seasoned with chicken salt. the combo is worth it, but i can rarely get through the whole...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOrdered the slow cooked lamb hot roll and a beef tower burger on Uber eats. Will never order from there again. So many bad things to say about the whole experience. First off, the lamb hot roll was in the same bun as the burger not a roll. The lamb tasted like it was slow cooked in a toilet. My wife had one bite, I tried it and spat it out. Absolutely disgusting. Both burgers were tiny, it's a tower burger for ants. The photo showed a burger with chips and there weren't any. We also got the chocolate brownie which came in a huge aluminium lined bag; the "brownie" was the size of my pinkie nail and was ice cold. My wife and I can only assume that the good reviews are from the staff, owners and their family members. Had to throw the lamb burger in the bin and share my tiny tower burger with my wife. Had diarrhoea afterwards, I assume from the lamb roll that tasted like a combination of raw fish mixed with vomit and pepper. Spent thirty dollars, still hungry...
