Flavour of North India — Restaurant in Sydney

Pretty rough. That’s the easiest way to describe our experience here. The positives: Plenty of food at an affordable price. The staff were nice and the place was reasonably clean and there is some space to sit down and eat comfortably. The biggest problem is that the food itself is generally not great. The Paneer Palak is tasteless. The Chicken Tiki Masala was awful - the sauce tasted like tomato soup with a heaping of ketchup and sugar in it. The lamb curry was probably the best thing I had (the garlic naan was ok, but burned on one side) but some of the pieces were incredibly tough to chew. The food variety was very good and the portion size big enough for another day. My friend had the beef korma with rice for $15.50 and i had a samosa with mint sauce for $3.50 and a tandoori naan wrap for $11.90. The samosa was so big I hadn't even started the wrap yet. The staff could have been a little bit friendlier but I guess they were trying to be efficient and get through the people waiting so they didn't have to wait too long. If you don't want to wait the wait as you do in many of the other places this is a good place to come to and try some delicious Indian food. Wow! The food looked delicious but I was majorly turned off at how they put all 3 selected curries on the same dish. Serving sizes are also a joke, a large was in my eyes a size small! I asked for a seperate plate yet I was told that would cost extra. That wouldn’t have necessarally been a problem but the attitude and customer service I received was horrific. The staff were rushing us to order, wasn’t helpful in any questions we had, rolled their eyes at us and just full of attitude. Me and my friend eventually cancelled the order and walked out.
