Located at Sanoni Avenue, Sandringham, New South Wales, Australia šŸ‡¦šŸ‡ŗ A good little club, we had not been for quite some time, since before the renovations had been done and we came last night for the concert šŸŽ¶, One Hit Wonders. The concert was great, played some wonderful music to dance too. My group, which included people with disabilities had a fantastic time. The dinner was good, personally I found my scotch fillet to be too fatty and I don’t like fat on my meat but everyone else enjoyed their meals. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. Very helpful. The views over the water were fantastic. A great job with the renovations, club looks great. There’s a šŸ›— to get from main entrance to main floor so wheelchair accessible. The menu is your basic club menu with all the favourites, my friend had the $20 lobster šŸ¦ž, she said it was nice but TINY! The price for the concert šŸŽµ was so good, only $10 but you got $10 off your food or drinks šŸ·. Great Value!! It’s a lovely club and I would certainly recommend and return!!! Thumbs up!!! šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘

The staff were very friendly and helpful but not very efficient. Some of the food was excellent but some not so much. The entree was excellent, we all had the same seafood platter but the mains were variable. The lobster was excellent but the pasta was very bland. The risotto just had way too much garlic in it and was overpowering. The steak was cooked perfectly but it was tough and full of gristle. The accompanying mash was cold. After the entree was cleared they brought the mains but forgot to renew the cutlery. We thought that they would bring back something to eat our meal with but we gave up in the end. When we asked for something to crack the legs of the lobster they didn't have anything to do the job. Finally we ordered some coffee but the order never got through and eventually we gave up and asked what was happening with our order. What order? If you join the club there is a significant discount that made the tariff very reasonable. That combined with the unsurpassed view made it worthwhile. Probably won't go back though.

WOW WOW WOW CHRISTMAS DAY LUNCH What a wonderful way to spend Christmas Day GRSC really put on a fantastic event for all the family. There was amazing entertainment/entertainers who put on a great show. Singers, musicians, Christmas characters and Santa went to every table posing for photos - even at 55 & 77 it was great to get a photo with Santa! The buffet was great, beautiful prawns, oysters, balmain bugs, seafood salads and a vast range of side dishes. There was a hot carvery section with all the traditional Christmas favourites, hot ham, roast chicken, pork, roast beef’s with a selection of vegetables to choose from. There was dessert tables had all sorts of cakes, tarts, pavlova and even a chocolate fountain with fresh fruit and marshmallows ready for dipping. Tea and coffee was a great wrap up to a fantastic day. Before we left, there was a Photo One selfie machine set up so we could take some festive snaps to take home. The GRSC really put on a great day for everyone to enjoy. We will be back again next Christmas!

Sadly much has changed here and the personalised, familiar, welcoming atmosphere has been turfed out the door by the management in favour of generic, ā€œwith chips and saladā€ meals. I am talking about eating here. The operators of Sails have been removed suddenly so the dining room is no longer a quiet, classy room to eat and socialise in, but now attracts all and sundry. Food here is now nothing like the restaurant fare it was some three weeks ago, but rather a matter of photocopied special menus and the former bistro menu. No beautiful dishes like the risotto, seafood pasta, lemon sole, three fish plates, fattoush salad and slow cooked lamb, but now generic and pedestrian stuff like a burger and chips, steak and chips, a couple of varieties of fish (and chips), all the common unoriginal mostly deep fried club food. The chips are once fried now, previously they were twice fried, golden and crunchy, now pale and soft. Previously you had a lovely choice here when it came to dining, now just one size fits all. Maybe some like the el cheapo specials like $12 fish and chips (Fish from wherever.....let you translate that), but mixing between bistro and restaurant was fantastic and enjoyable. Quality is always worth a few more dollars. Maybe people don’t care about it anymore. A recent (last week) old restaurant booking experience Requesting a window table proved unreliable as it was booked via the reception when people must have been coming and going, and didn’t end up being booked. It isn’t now worth 1-2 stars, down from 5. So let’s be pedestrian, like it now is and stick with 3. Well done board of directors. Love your work. Physical surroundings are still great and view is the key selling point. Staff friendliness after weekly visits and an annual spend on food and drink of some 3k as a member over two years 2/5 - could be...

The food is extremely ordinary. I go to the club each week for lunch with my mates. They eat there and I just have a drink with them. I've tried everything on the menu over the past 4 years and nothing is up to standard. Rubbish, their sausages and mash were despicable to even look at.

Australian's 3 favourite eatery meals are... Snitty Bangers and Mash. Calamari looks like it was deep fried in the 1960's at an old fashion fish and chips shop. If it was done well, it could be regarded as trendy.

Seriously, the Manager Steve (who is a nice guy) should do his homework and provide quality meals at affordable prices. The St George Sailing Club is booming. (its operated by the Manly 16ft Skiff Sailing Club.) Theire website said they have an executive chef who designs their meals. The staff are mainly young and care about their customers. It shows.

I'd like to see 2 great Clubs competing for our business. It will improve the overall business for both clubs.

PS. Maybe you need to change the name of the Georges River 16ft Sailing Club. (its too big a mouth full) People always get the two clubs mixed up. Which is a pain when you're waiting for them at the other club.

I'm available to facilitate a Brainstorming Session with members if you like to obtain a new brand name that works. (Yes, I would charge a fraction of my normal fee for this service)

Truly, I'm not chasing the work. Just want to see the...

This used to be our favourite place to meet for family lunches and catch ups.

Today we visited and were surprised at the changes, including the walled off areas to make way for functions, which effectively cut off the surrounding views and the open feel it formerly had.

The three of us ate in the bistro with all the other dining patrons crammed into a tiny space against the windows, presumably to reduce the area that staff needed to service. The amount of empty space being unutilised mocked us. Hence our gathering over lunch was noisy and crowded. We could barely hear one another over the concentration of noise coming from the condensed groups of people.

The food was substandard and I couldn't eat my meal of salad with chicken. The tomato was powdery and flavourless, lettuce transparent and soggy. Grilled chicken over cooked. And feta was served as one slimy slab sitting on top.

My husbands plate was cleared away when he stepped away momentarily to take a phone call, and the waiter was so quick about it and didn't ask if the meal had been finished. My husband returned to the table and was extremely disappointed as he'd not finished eating.

Overall the entire experience was extremely disappointing and we won't be returning.

The atmosphere and food were...
