Coffee: The Colombian Reserve Passion: 4/10 Crema: 5/10
Hmmm.... if you have nothing nice to say.... write a review online... :-)
Seriously though, this cafe ticks a lot of boxes, and my experience (I hope) is unlikely to be representative of regular service here, but I can only review what I got. That said, I was excited to see both a coffee roaster i was not familiar with and that this cafe had single origin beans on offer. Perhaps this got me a little too excited ...?
So I ordered a long black using their Colombian single origin which was meant to have "fine layers of chocolate and orange with a bright citrus aroma." Instead... what I got was a "interesting" mix of melted plastic and wet cardboard. I even let it cool down a bit to see if it became drinkable... but sadly no. Likely this coffee was just exceptionally stale and perhaps over espressed, but what ever it was, it was nothing I could finish.
The feeling I got from this place is that they are the best coffee in this area, and that large milk coffees are their stock and trade. As such, if the locals keep coming back they must be doing something right, and I was likely just unlucky, but I will be leaving it to someone else to review here in the future.
N.B. There was no #powerwhoring available It does appear that public WiFi is available via Cafescreen Free WiFi
[Edit...] One of the people I follow online comes to this cafe twice a day, and said I was likely unlucky. Thus, it's probably worth given these guys a go if you are in the area. Until I experience it however, my review will...
Read moreI used to buy my regular coffee here, but the barista BURNS the soy milk every now and then. Today, I heard the machine screeching!
Then when I took a sip, it was so hot it burnt my tongue. I politely asked for a new one, but instead of apologising or checking the temp, the barista turned to the cashier and said I should ask for a ‘warm’ one instead, within earshot.
Umm, no. I just wanted a HOT coffee that isn’t burnt. Yes, there is a difference without making it warm, hot and scalding.
And it's not an unreasonable request for a barista to know. You have 1 job and should take pride in your product.
This place has got complacent and forgotten all about customer service. Will be telling my office colleagues not to come here either. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Please stop making false claims and attempting to intimidate me. I’ve shared the events exactly as they happened. I’ve done nothing rude or wrong.
It’s clear that customer service is not a priority for you. Your behaviour of being confrontational and combative is a common way you deal with negative reviews.
As for my reviews, I have far more five-star ratings than one-stars. You’re lucky. Your cafe and it’s handling of complaints deserves zero stars.
No loss for me, mate. There’s other cafes on the block that me, my colleagues and clients will go to....
Read moreWe had a big end of year group lunch organised here as our office is nearby. We were very organised and pre-ordered food and drinks for the entire group - so no fussing over the menu when we got there.
First point of annoyance was that rather than providing 2 or 3 large tables for us, they put us outside and had lots of small tables or 4 or 6 at a time so really divided the group right up.
Then there was the long wait for the food to come out. It did so in dribs and drabs and in seemingly illogical order (e.g. food that take longer came out first, cold items later or similar foods came out in separate lots - an indicator that the kitchen wasn't too organised). The service was also poor - I know the cafe was busy that day but they had fair warning of the groups that would be there so should have had an extra people on. So many were almost finished before others got their food.
We also pre-ordered drinks which were prepared at the bar and just left there for +15min. One of our group was so frustrated after asking the staff several times about it that she got up and grabbed the tray herself and distributed them.
Needless to say, we haven't been back and will not go here as a...
