👀 The Governor is fairly new only opening in 2018! It is like a little mega centre of restaurants, pokies, rooftop, event spaces and it is NICE. There is limited car spaces available, if you’re earlier you can get a spot or we’ve had to park up the road before. 💥 The fit out is stunning, very upscale, doesn’t feel like our local pub. White Hamptons style furniture, neon lights, greenery draping from the ceiling and a graffiti style kids game room. The main pub has cabin type vibes, little pockets of booths along the walls, arches and white brick complete with taxidermy animals. 🍺 Coronas come in cans!! Full bar as expected and cocktails. Bottomless brunch options on weekends too. They also have Asahi on tap! 🍴 I’ve eaten a Schnitty both times i’ve come here haha HAND CRUMBED SCHNITZEL $25 served with chips and house slaw - pretty expensive for a schnitzel, good amount of chips, schnitty was pretty perfect. Happy to pay that amount in such a nice atmosphere. I’d love to go to Jinja next time ✨ Always great service and we love coming here.

The atmosphere and location of this hotel is fantastic and very inviting. Multi levels which all have their individuality. We booked the rooftop for a lunch and upon arriving found this area to have a great vibe and was looking forward to our lunch. The service was brilliant - friendly, helpful and mindful of making our experience a great experience. I thought it was really nice that the staff asked what time gap we required between our starters and main. Unfortunately, the food was a let down. The menu sounded delicious however we ordered the lamb kebab with fatoush salad and the pulled pork burger with fries. The lamb came out already rested in the mint yoghurt - therefore the juices from the meat had filtered throughout the mint yoghurt and the fatoush salad was more just a garden salad. The pulled pork was also quite soggy. I wouldn't completely discount this location based on this alone as I believe there are other parts of the hotel that serve food and I am only basing this review on the rooftop.

Honestly I am so disappointed. I’ve been here many times, hosted Melbourne cup events for my staff and family dinners but today was horrible. It pains me to share this review but all 3 of the guests were equally underwhelmed. We ordered when it was extremely quiet and 45 mins go by and no entrees or mains - we follow up and surprise surprise it comes out immediately. It was just sitting at the kitchen and not brought out so the mains were cold. No entrees arrived.. we asked another 2 times and then they arrived once we had finished our mains. Other issues with food, besides being cold and underwhelming: - Ordered an extra patty on the chicken burger, no other choice to select another piece of chicken.. they put a beef patty on it? If I ordered another patty on a beef burger would it be a chicken one? Makes no sense why they did that - it was a strange experience - Chicken wings inedible, burnt and dry - calamari was rubbery, chewey and bouncy - parmigiana had so much toppings it was buried in cheese and sauce Overall one of the most underwhelming lunches I’ve ever had. Based on this I will not be back. So terrible.

We had our engagement here just over a week ago and it was amazing! From the moment we walked in we felt so comfortable. I called before we arrived to see if we could drop the cake and flowers off early and they were so accommodating. They even changed around the set up a little bit due to a miscommunication prior to the evening. Tabi, Lara and Jess looked after us and they were just incredible.. everyone raved on about how good the service and food was. None of our guests went hungry or thirsty and everyone stuck around til the end of the night. The Glasshouse and Balcony are gorgeous. The only thing that I would suggest is getting the roof fixed as it started bucketing down for about 30 mins and it was leaking through the sides of the roof into our room - luckily the cake was not in that location 😅 other than that, the night was perfect and I wish we could relive it. Would highly recommend any event here!! Thanks again girls.. you made our engagement party better than we could’ve expected.

We were here on the opening night of the venue, upon arrival it totally looks amazing they did a great job on the architecture. The security was quite strict however I kinda understand what they meant by strict dress codes. So yeah no ripped jeans. Anyhow the staff members are pretty friendly and quick to help out at any situation. I especially like the bar staff as they provided quick and friendly service we never had to wait long for our drinks. The decor is great as it's not too overwhelming. One complaint though the locks on the alcohol cabinets... I have seen them bump into people they walked by. Now for the food: Katrina the waitress was excellent as she took our orders in a timely manner. What we didn't like was the dining experience. There's no table service nor do they bring the food to the tables. But the food was good.. sure took awhile but it was good. This venue is going to be home to many of the surrounding businesses "go to local". So you can expect busy Friday nights.

This is literally the best pub in the area (Chatswood, Ryde, Macquarie etc.)! There are multiple venues in one: - Downstairs bistro and "garden" - perfect for a casual meal with family, evening meal with friends or even a function. Food here is great: from pizzas to poke bowls. - Downstairs bar and gaming launge - great for a quick drink or a long night with friends. - Rooftop Bar - this is far too cool for the area. Great vibes and good snack food (like the photo), which is different to the menu downstairs. For those that read the negative reviews I can say a few things. All the staff I have met have been really nice and I've been to all areas multiple times because I live around corner. Also if looking half respectable is the price you pay for having a cool place in the area, I will pay it no questions asked. For those not prepared, the ranch is right around the corner but it's nothing on the Governor. I highly recommend you check this place out.
