Café Parco — Restaurant in Sydney

I went there today to order things off the massive menu posted on the wall. An obvious trainee was taking my order.

After trying to order an item she looked at her colleague (an older ?italian gentleman). He said the item was unavailable. I tried to order another item off the menu.

He then aggressively pointed to the food in the serving display and in front of him and said again aggressively said this food was the only thing we could order.

How am I magically supposed to know nothing from the menu is available when I walk into a cafe.

I walked to a cafe further up the road where I was treated like a person.
