Golden Pavilion Restaurant — Restaurant in Sydney

While the atmosphere is of an old style Chinese restaurant which bring back childhood memories, I will never return nor will my family after mediocre and overpriced food, and the worst service and treatment my family and I have ever received. Their fried rice is more like boiled rice with carrots and a few prawns, no flavour at $20 a serve. Rest of the food was ok, soft drinks are poured from a 2 litre bottle so 2 of our 4 cokes were flat at $5 a glass. However we enjoyed our night together celebrating my son’s birthday and Mother’s Day. We weren’t going to fuss over the food, it is what it is. So we take along our $8 Woolworths cake for the sake of the kids, we decide to ask if there is a cake surcharge, my son goes and asks the lady, if a fee or we’ll take it home and have it there. Lady says no charge so we eat the cake. All good until Our bill includes a cake charge, so we dispute this charge and they tell us wait for it “ lady not speak English, so we must pay the charge “ we were annoyed after average over priced food by now and we let them know we were not happy with the charge as we were told, no charge. Instead of looking after regular customers who live in Revesby and eat from there numerous occasions, they intimidated us by having 5-6 of the staff stand around us and abuse us and we should be lucky they didn’t charge us a cleaning charge for our 12 months old baby in the high chair. While I had no choice but to pay it on my card ( had I enough cash they would have got what was owed minus the cake fee.) some bloke decided to chase us from the front of his business and told us to F&$$ Off. Wow just wow, I will tell everyone I know of this experience. We have eaten there food many times and on occasion have eaten in this restaurant over the past 20 years. Don’t bother here. Dine at Blue Ocean Seafood restaurant instead (better service and food), it’s just a few metres down. Extremely disappointed with the service at Golden Pavillion (what used to be our regular Chinese restaurant). Staff took our order at 8.50pm and stated the kitchen closed at 9.15pm. They were happy to take our order for 5 people for take away. It was agreed we would come in at 9.30pm for pick up. I turn up as agreed and all the doors were closed and lights were off. They didn’t even have the decency to pick up my phone calls! Incredibly rude of them to take our order in the first place. Just admit you can’t stay open til 10pm. They’ve instead lost 5 customers.

Edit: yes please, show me the CCTV footage because you are clearly lying. Why weren’t you picking up the calls then? I don’t understand why you would need to lie. As I said, we used to love eating here but the service we encountered is just appalling! 🤣 also why would we need to lie about this? We had a great dinner here. Food was very delicious, portions were good sizes.

Service was very good and food arrived quickly.

Prices are quite high.

Restaurant was not busy despite we dine on Saturday Night.

The only thing that we found unusual for a chinese restaurant is the lack of illumination in the restaurant. This restaurant is more suitable for those who.are after romantic athmosphere, not suitable for those with children as the dining area is very dark. You can barely see the people sitting infront of you, so really hard to supervise the kids during the dining.
