I've been a customer of GYG for a few years now, and I probably won't return.
Until recently, I've never had any problems with GYG at Macarthur Square. Food was great, a little on the expensive side but was worth it. My partner and I have been regular customers for a couple years, now. It used to be fantastic.
Nowadays, the burritos are noticeably smaller than they used to be. The quesadillas are burnt. Their nachos are dry. Don't bother ordering additional fillings in anything, they won't include them.
The customer service is cold and transactional, with whomever serving you doing so with glazed eyes, not even pretending to listen to words outside of the menu. I feel like an atm they pull money out of to exchange for average food.
When you order for a pickup, the food is cold; due to either them keeping the chilled drinks with the food, or just from waiting for the rest of the order to finish cooking, even when I have arrived early for the pick up.

Read moreI have never written a review for anywhere I have visited (good or bad) but I feel compelled to share my experience as a result of this haphazardly prepared meal. Not only was the wait extensive as usual but besides the fact I ordered a meat free meal, the severity of the food poisoning I am still currently experiencing cannot be understated. I have never been so sick in my 28 years on this earth as I was as a result of consuming such a virus and germ filled product. I cannot fathom the lack of hygiene that went into preparing the meal that caused me to question if I would live through the vomiting that I experienced. If you value your health and wellbeing and want it to be prepared by individuals that know as little as how to wash their hands before preparing food then I implore you to visit one of the dozen other places Macarthur Sq has to offer. Or just starve, at least that will be less painful. 1 star for getting my order right,...
Read moreThis was the first time I have tried anything from this chain, we ordered the family fiesta $30 for 2 burritos, 2 adult nachos with guacamole and 2 kids nachos with cheese.
The adult burritos were quite good, pulled pork, rice, beans, tomato etc - was pretty happy.
The kids meals however were quite plain and boring, I appreciate they were for kids but if the kids are happy we will always come back - if they aren't happy then we go somewhere else (less complaining).
I found the price of alcohol was quite expensive, $7.50 for a cider! I ended up paying $30 for food and $21 on drinks (2 x bottles of water and 2 x bottles of cider) - $51 for 2 adults and 2 kids under 4.
The tables were clean and the atmosphere was good.
The best thing - the time for service. Wow they are fast. I ordered and they were almost back at the table at the same time I...
