NeNe Chicken Macarthur Square — Restaurant in Sydney

My recent dining experience at the restaurant around 8 pm was, unfortunately, quite dissatisfactory. Despite the relatively quiet atmosphere with only a few tables occupied, the evening unfolded with a series of disappointments and shortcomings. Opting for a snack pack, the initial arrival of chicken set the tone for the meal. The pieces were disappointingly rubbery and lacked any discernible flavor, even with the inclusion of an accompanying sauce that failed to elevate the dish.

Adding to the frustration was a noticeable delay in receiving the fries, prompting me to approach the staff after a 10-minute wait. The fries, when they finally arrived, only added to the overall disappointment. One set appeared aged, lacking salt, and had a reheated quality reminiscent of a fast-food chain's leftovers. The second batch, although fresh, fell short on flavor, contributing to an overall lack of satisfaction.

In drawing comparisons to more established establishments like Gami chicken and beer, this particular restaurant fell notably short across various aspects—taste, texture, sauces, and even service efficiency. The stark contrast emphasized the considerable room for improvement within this establishment.

The cumulative effect of these issues painted a picture of a dining experience that failed to meet even modest expectations. The restaurant's ambiance, though quiet, lacked the vibrancy that typically accompanies a positive dining experience. The disappointing quality of both the main dish and the accompanying side further underscored significant areas for improvement. VERY DISSAPOINTED !!! went there today at 8:40 PM (80 minutes before closer), we ordered boneless chicken, chips and tacos. We asked for water but the lady at the counter said there was no water when clearly there was a water bottle in the fridge which another lady pointed to her. When it came to making the payment on the screen it had our complete order. To our DISSAPOINT a couple minutes later we checked our receipt and noticed we only got charged for the chips + tacos and no chicken. When we went to the counter to say hey we didn't get charged for the chicken and that it isnt part of our order, TO OUR DISSAPOINTMENT SHE SAID "YEA I KNOW, ITS SOLD OUT" which was very frustrating because she acknowledged our order 5 minutes ago but said nothing. After another couple minutes we got told that THEY ARE OUT OF TACOS ASWELL, which once again when we made the order we weren't told of that. We ordered the chicken to be coated with 2 flavors which we paid the extra money for, to makes things even worse the chicken wasn't even coated properly and we were given only 1 flavor rather than the 2 we originally paid for.

On google it says they are open till 10pm, when we went to place another order at 9pm we got told "sorry we aren't accepting any orders", which make no sense how a fast food place stops taking orders an hour before closing.

On the bright side the food which we were served was very nice.

Overall it was a dissapointing and frustrating experience given this was the 2nd day since their opening, you would think a place that just opened up would have much better...

So I decided to eat here and wanted to see if it were up to standards, I’ll tell You now, It was Amazing! I usually test places with there Service, speed, quality, taste and prices. (This review is after testing them 3 times) The person at the counter that I thought quite fast was the Manager due to Him giving commands to all the workers. At first I found it quite annoying that He couldn’t just take My order without turning around and getting distracted giving orders to the workers. Once the food came out it was 5/5 presentation & 5/5 with the flavours. The corn dog I got was a little on the uncooked side but more about that later.

After thinking to Myself “Why couldn’t He just take My order without getting distracted” I thought, well all the food that just came out was ordered by His words, teaching the new workers how to do things. Due to it being New I found it amazing!

After this I kept speaking to the Manager and the workers creating a really nice bond. I’m very honest so I did tell Him about the uncooked corn dog, good criticism that is, after that, every time I’ve ordered it, it was really good. The manager coming over checking in, asking if the foods ok was just customer service at it’s finest.

Over all this place is the place to go for fancy food for fast...
