I had a terrible experience at this establishment and would not recommend it to anyone. The establishment has two sections - one upstairs that is supposed to be a swanky restaurant, and one downstairs that is a complete dump of a pub. Despite this, the only place still allowed for children is the downstairs section with beer spills and stains all over the place.
It seems like this establishment would rather have children hang out in the dirty downstairs section with its rowdy crowd, rather than upstairs with their upscale clientele. But hey, at least the upstairs section is dog-friendly... How inclusive, amirite?! But apparently, children aren't clean or behaved enough to have around their swanky customers on an early Sunday afternoon.
I can't understand why they allow children in the dirty and unpleasant downstairs section, but not the upstairs section, where it's actually more like a normal restaurant. This blatant stereotyping and disregard for the well-being of families is unacceptable.
To make matters worse, when I brought up the ridiculousness of this policy to the bartender, he gave me the stink-eye as if he wanted to grab me by the neck and throw me out on the spot, in front of my young daughter. Sure I asked in a way that was like 'how does this make any sense', but I was in no way rude, condescending nor did I use any profanity.
Save yourself the trouble and steer clear of this...
Read moreUpset that I can no longer eat at Hotel Mosman after they introduced burning candles on both levels. Candle string wicks give off pollutant emissions and perfume scent particulates triggers my asthma. Hotel Mosman, give staff and customers clean air and reduce respiratory disease from long term exposure to candle pollution. Health from pollution free clean air, should take precedence over the 'mood' candles create. You've lost at least 10 pc of your customers. Outdoors upstairs they installed outdoors blinds which traps in the burning wick and airborne wax scent emissions. Gets into the lungs. Once the particles are in the lungs, it takes coughing for many days to get rid of the pollutants, then the asthma lungs just keep you coughing for more days. About 10 per cent of the population suffering allergy and asthma will be affected. OH&S problem for staff who are not aware that one day in adult life, you can just wake up and have allergies/asthma, what happened to me at age 32 from exposure to working on Pacific Hwy on Sydney's north shore breathing in car fumes...
Read moreInterstate traveller and look under 25? Security says your driver's licence is unacceptable as proof of ID (and will ask for your passport - but who carries this for interstate travel?), yet a proof of age card issued by interstate is somehow acceptable (drivers and proof of age is issued by same state, what the f-?!). Visited a friend who lives in Mosman for dinner. Security ID'd us and deemed my (SA) licence as unacceptable and refused to let me buy my own drinks but allowed my friend to buy me drinks. Makes absolutely no sense. Food was fine and I called Service NSW to clarify the issue (they pointed me to service liquor and gambling site which says that any Australian state and territory drivers licence is legal for proof of age) and have taken...
