The worst Thai restaurant I have been to, and I've been to many. For some reason we were seated next to the waiting area rather than inside despite a booking well in advance and vacant tables. Food took over an hour to come out. It was average and overpriced. We were then overcharged. Surprisingly, they argued with us about it rather than using it as an opportunity to improve the experience, even though they must have known the service was poor - we paid it because we don't really care about $30 here and there, but they should care less than us being a restaurant in Mosman (not the case), and the general rule that the customer is right. The staff are unfriendly and seem to treat you according to how much money they think you have and need to learn that many high net worth individuals are often younger unassuming people, who despite being that way do not take kindly to having their intelligence insulted. I think they may have grown used to being able to overcharge and underdeliver due to the area they are in. I'm sure they frequently get away with it, but they deserve an honest review at the very least. Go somewhere else, there are many other better options...
Read moreBeware. Had dinner at Thai Nine tonight,, When we received the bill we realised that they have changed their BYO policy - fine print on their menu but still not clear. There were three diners, Two had still wine and three shared sparkling. They now charge 3 x $5 / head for sparkling and 2 x $5 head for still wine. We paid $ 25 for corkage because we had one bottle of sparkling and one bottle of still wine, Ridiculous. If we had 2 bottles of still wine it would have been $15..
Sorry I don’t get it. Just a rip off.
The other rip off is that if one person at the table wants some steamed rice for $3.50 everyone at the table has to pay $3.50 even if you don’t eat it. So if there was a table of 8 and only one person had rice you would be charged 8 x $3.50 = $28. So you are better if only one person wants rice to order...
Read moreThai 9 is handsdown, absolutely, 100% THE the best Thai food I’ve ever eaten in Sydney. This isn’t basic Thai, the chefs are obviously very well trained and traditional aspects of Thai food with a modern twist. Everything down to the seasoning in the amount of chilli that is added in the dishes are superb. Service is friendly and the restaurant is modern, and the atmosphere perfect. It’s BYO too which is amazing ! I’d highly recommend the pad see ew, chicken cashew nut and he green curry. The food served lovingly, with attention to detail make d immaculate presentation. It may seem a more pricier option for Thai considering there is ALOT of cheap Thai in Sydney but honestly it’s worth it for the quality rather than mass produced, slapped...
