I will start by saying I have been to this place many times for occasions and birthday with nice tasting food and atmosphere. However on the 9th of February we booked for 6 of us and 3 kids to go to the restaurant for my mother in-laws birthday and have some family time with a nice meal. We always make sure we get all the foods on the menu and everyone leaves full and happy. Unfortunately for us on this occasion more than half of us went home to the toilet feeling all unwell and suffering from food poisoning. I made several attempts the day after to speak to hurricanes head office and the manager of narrelan at which I received no response. I made contact by email the day after and contacted Narellan again at which I received a call back from the manager Marcella. While speaking to Marcella and describing our night and the meals we got I was concerned that we may not of been the only ones that night with the same issue. The restaurant at the time we attended for our 6pm booking only had 4-5 tables full and was about 80% empty. Although we thought this was odd we assumed she to interest rates and inflation people are not going out as much. When I questioned that if everyone else was okay, Marcella responded with we have the best quality control and all temperatures are monitored so I would say you guys didn't get sick from us. I then responded with we are 3 seperate households who haven't seen each other in days and only came to eat dinner together that night. Not once did she try to offer a solution or be empathetic with the situation or some responsibility of what has happened. Instead she took zero responsibility and argued and took zero accountability. I said Marcella it's disappointing as a manager of such a high calibre that you would even try to help the customer or offer a solution to help us come back to your venue without leaving a sour taste in a mouth and with this response it's actually appalling. Even though we spent $830 on dinner I wasn't asking for a refund or anything of the kind, all I wanted was to let you know, and possibly some help for our next booking for the future to avoid this and maybe a round of drinks for the absolute mess. I will take this further to NSW food authority if need be and leave feedback about our experience and the conversation we have had to make sure everyone is well aware of...
Read moreThis was extremely disappointing right from the very start and then unfortunately to the very end. The service was terrible and virtually non existent. 4 out of 10 meals were returned to the kitchen. Don't order the banquet as you will only receive 2 salads, 3 squid, 3 garlic bread and 2 mushrooms dishes all of extremely very small serving sizes for 10 people. Don't bother with the pork short ribs as Hurricane's thinks that it's acceptable to serve literally bones with no meat on them. The main meals were all very average including the replacement meals for the 4 returned pork short ribs. To top the night off the manager on duty refused any concession on the pricing ($65 per head for 2 courses) even though their service resulted in half the table eating at one time an the other half at another. Quite frankly if they had the slightest modicum of service they would have at least replaced the returned meals free of charge. The best part of the meal, which I need to give high praise, was the cheese cake my sister in law brought along. Absolutely delicious. First and last time diner. If I could give zero I would. How this place manages to stay in business is beyond me.
I've decided to add to my complaint. After spending time and money to identify the owners name and address and sending a personalised letter detailing the problems encountered at the Hurricanes Narellan restaurant that they would at least have the courtesy to contact me but no, they have not. I really just don't think that they care. I guess when the owner lives in Vaucluse he may be able to afford to...
Read moreI recently visited this Hurricanes Restaurant with my family, hoping for an enjoyable experience like I had at other Hurricane locations. However, I left feeling disappointed and let down. The major issue that overshadowed our visit was the excessive amount of dust present throughout the establishment.
From the moment we sat down, it was apparent that cleanliness was not a priority. The tables, chairs, and even the surrounding areas were covered in a layer of dust. It was not only unappealing but also raised concerns about the overall cleanliness and maintenance of the restaurant.
As someone who has previously had positive experiences at other Hurricane locations, this visit was a letdown. I expected the same level of quality and attention to detail, which unfortunately was lacking on this occasion.
I believe that a clean and inviting environment is essential for an enjoyable dining experience. It not only affects the ambiance but also reflects the care and professionalism of the establishment. The presence of excessive dust at Hurricanes Restaurant took away from what could have been a memorable time with my family.
I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and addresses the cleanliness issues promptly. As a loyal customer of Hurricane, I still have faith in the brand and hope that future visits will meet the expected standards of cleanliness...
